Mother of three hits back at trolls who criticized her for wearing crop tops
It’s one of those discussions that keeps coming up.
Some people believe that certain styles should be left to the youth alone, but let’s face it: today’s fashion world is all about breaking those old-fashioned rules.
And age is just a number, right?
We are increasingly seeing that it is all about how you feel in your clothes, and not the number on your birth certificate.
Wearing a crop top can be a bold and powerful choice, and one mom knows exactly what that means.
Summer, who is known as @zomer_fit on TikTok, shared a video on her social media showing off her stomach in a crop top.
The blonde mother of three, who has clearly worked hard to get impressive abs, wanted to hit back at internet trolls who say that “women over 40 really shouldn’t wear crop tops.”
In response to that comment, she pretended there was a voice saying, “No, I wanted to listen to that, but I just went on with my life.”
Another video showed Summer wearing only panties and a bra with breast tubes.
She captioned the video: “If you find it offensive when I touch one part of my body or annoying when I ‘show’ another part… IDGAF (I don’t give f***)
“Because honestly… It’s MY BODY and I’m proud.
“If I can motivate just 10 people, I don’t care if one person criticizes or judges me negatively. 44 is #STILL YOUNG and it’s possible!”
Her videos receive thousands of likes and many leave comments to share their opinions.
One of them wrote: “Wow, stunning.”
A second added: “I’m 44 too but you make 44 look so young!”
While a third said: “Good genes and very hard work.”
And someone else said, “Wow, really amazing, absolutely stunning.”
She’s not the only woman proud to still wear a crop top after turning 40.
We previously revealed that Lisa Crobo, 63, had to respond to internet trolls after receiving negative comments about her outfit choice.
The fashionista regularly records her outings on filmwhether she’s walking down the street or browsing in shops.
Her wardrobe functions chic sleeveless tops that accentuate her waist, teamed with skirts, jeans and trousers.
In a striking video, Lisa vented her frustration, saying she was “really tired of judging” and insisting she’s just trying to “live her best life.”
Can there be a dress code if you wear a crop top in public?
The concept of ‘dress codes’ usually applies to specific environments, such as schools, workplaces, or certain institutions where dress codes are enforced to maintain a certain standard or atmosphere.
In public spaces, the situation is generally more relaxed and there are no strict rules, but social norms.
Whether or not you can get a dress code for wearing a crop top in public largely depends on the context and location:
Public areas: In most public spaces, such as parks, streets, and beaches, wearing a crop top is generally acceptable and unlikely to have any formal implications. People are free to dress as they please, provided they adhere to basic standards of decency and local laws.
Settings and locations: Some restaurants, shops or clubs have their own dress codes. It is possible that a crop top does not meet the dress code for formal occasions. In such cases, the staff may kindly ask you to adhere to their dress code or deny you access.
Schools and workplaces: Educational institutions and workplaces often have dress codes. Crop tops may be considered inappropriate in these settings and you may be asked to change into more appropriate clothing.
Cultural and regional considerations: In certain cultures or regions, norms and expectations regarding acceptable dress can vary widely. It is always a good idea to be aware of and respect local customs and dress codes when traveling.
