The confused woman explained that the tree had been planted ten years ago, so it was no surprise that she was furious.

But the worst part was that her rude neighbor had left the mess behind.

The content creator shared a sneaky video of her neighbor being caught red-handed on social media, leaving many people shocked.

Alongside the video, which shows the man on a stepladder reaching over the fence to cut down the tree, the woman wrote: “Guys what do you do when you wake up and see your neighbor cut down your tree that you planted 10 years ago… without asking.”

She was very angry about the actions of her ‘nightmare’ neighbor and asked, ‘Isn’t this illegal?’

She also wondered, “I’m literally so confused… should I call the police?”

The angry woman, who normally posts online content about fashion and lifestyle, turned her camera on her garden to show it off.

Although the tree was clearly overgrown and unkempt, the woman claimed that her neighbor had not thrown away the felled tree, but had left the rubbish he had cut down in her garden. This was a double blow for her: not only was her tree cut down, but she also had to clean up the mess.

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @senorcarbdemonhas clearly caused quite a stir, as the video has been viewed a whopping 964,200 times in just 22 hours.

Social media users were shocked by the man’s actions and many advised her to call the police.

I bought a dream house for an unbelievable price… but then the neighbor DESTROYED it with a fence (1)

Someone said, “This is literally a crime.”

Another added: “Sue. That’s what I would do.”

A third commented: “I would call the police immediately.”

At the same time, one user confessed: “I would cry, make sure you have enough photos and videos.”

To this the woman replied, “I’m crying. I planted this cherry blossom tree ten years ago since I was a baby and it is literally so beautiful in the spring.

“I am literally furious.”

While someone else wrote: “And watch as they leave you to clean up the mess.”

In response, the angry TikTok poster replied: “They literally did that… I’m so tempted to throw it back over the fence and start World War III.”

Rules for fences and trees

Fences:

  • Height restrictions: In most areas, front yard fences cannot be higher than one meter without a building permit. For back yards, the limit is generally two meters.
  • Shared fences: If you share a fence with a neighbor, both parties are typically responsible for maintenance and any costs for repairs or replacement.
  • Building regulations: Make sure any new fencing meets local building codes and does not obstruct the view of motorists or pedestrians.

Trees:

  • Property: Trees on your property are your responsibility, including the damage they may cause. Conversely, trees on a neighbor’s property are their responsibility.
  • Overhanging branches: You have the right to prune branches that hang over your property, but only up to the boundary line. The pruned branches must be returned to the owner of the tree.
  • Protected trees: Some trees are protected by Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs). Check with your local council before carrying out any work on a tree, as unauthorised work can result in fines.
  • Carrots: If the roots of a neighbor’s tree are causing damage to your property, you have the right to remove the roots. However, it is advisable to discuss this with your neighbors first to avoid disputes.

Always consult your municipality or a legal advisor for specific regulations and advice.
