With many people looking for affordable ways to keep their homes warm during the autumn and winter, retailer Dunelm has come up with a ‘powerful’ solution.
Buyers are raving about the Russell Hobbs Black Compact Plug Ceramic Heater, as many say it’s an affordable way to brave the cold temperatures without spending a fortune.
The black heater costs £25, plugs into any wall socket and produces 700 watts of heat.
Ideal for smaller spaces, this small but powerful bargain features a 12-hour timer.
What’s more, not only is the heater affordable, costing just 20 cents per hour to run, but it also features a built-in night light function for added safety.
Dunelm customers are particularly impressed with the stove’s ability to heat a room in virtually no time.
The online product description reads: “The small heater can easily be taken to wherever heat is needed.
”With the 12-hour function you can heat your room on a cold evening.
”The heater also has 2 fan speed settings for added flexibility.”
It’s no wonder people are raving about this winter staple, with an impressive 4.2-star rating.
A satisfied customer said: “Very powerful and efficient to heat a garden of 13 square meters. Definitely recommended.”
Another said: “Excellently used in our garden room (4m x 3m) to keep the cold out and it works very well.”

How to save on your energy bill
SWITCHING ENERGY SUPPLIERS may seem like a hassle, but luckily it’s quite easy to change suppliers and save a lot of money.
Shop around – If you have an SVT deal, you’re likely to be throwing away up to £250 a year. Use a comparison site such as MoneySuperMarket.com, uSwitch or EnergyHelpline.com to see what deals are available to you.
The cheapest deals are usually found online and are fixed deals. This means that you pay a fixed amount, usually for a period of 12 months.
Switch – Once you have found one, all you need to do is contact the new supplier.
It is useful to have the following information, which you can find on your invoice, at hand and to pass it on to your new supplier.
- Your zip code
- Name of your existing supplier
- Name of your existing contract and how much you payA current meter reading
Your current supplier will then be notified and the switch will be initiated.
It will take up to three weeks to complete the switch and your power supply will not be interrupted during that time.

Despite the glowing reviews, not everyone recommended the £25 purchase, with one claiming: “It doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do.”
It comes after it was revealed that millions of people will be hit by a £149 increase in their energy bills when Ofgem’s new price cap comes into effect in a few weeks.
From 1 October, around 29 million people on their supplier’s standard variable tariff will see their bills rise from £1,568 a year to £1,717 a year.
