We are work friends and tested the Sainsbury’s purchases in our autumn shopping, size 10 vs size 18
Today, stores are more inclusive than ever when it comes to sizes.
But which brands stand out the most in the stores?
Mine work best friend and I often show up at the office in almost identical outfits – completely unplanned.
Even though we are different sizes (I’m a size 10 and Katy is an 18) and also different ages (I’m 44 and my girlfriend is 33), we both recently showed up at our office wearing a black and white polka dot silk maxi dress with matching curls.
Then we decided it was time to put our twinning skills to use.
So we’re on a mission to try out the same styles in different sizes from a range of high street favourites to see what works – and whether there really is something that works ‘for everyone’.body‘.
First on our list of products to visit is Sainsbury’s fashion assortment Tu Clothing. More and more people are buying their clothes in supermarkets where convenience, price and quality are all factors.
And Tu has some gorgeous fall staples in store – perfect, since today is officially the first day of the season.
We decided to try a work outfit, an everyday outfit and a going out outfit.
First up was the office outfit. We wore a beautiful dark green corduroy pants with an oversized black T-shirt and a black jacket with double buttons.
This was a to win for both of us – Katy bought a larger size trouser, which is very loose and comfortable for a different work look, and only cost £22.
They looked super cool with the t-shirt – which we made in sizes 12 and 20 for an easy look – tucked in, with a belt for Katy and without for me. This was only £5 and will be worn dead undoubtedly by both of us.
The hourglass jacket, which we bought again in sizes 12 and 20, really freshened up the whole look. It is a little more expensive at £28 but will be an easy staple to wear with lots of work ensembles.
Next We tried the trendy leopard print dress for an everyday look.
Available in sizes 10 and 18, this classic midi length is incredibly soft and fits fantastically no matter your size, shape or age.
At £18 this is a bargain and Katy and I will have to make do. fight to schedule when we wear this so we don’t twinning too much!
For an even more comfortable and casual look, we combined the dress with a comfortable beige sweater with beautiful batwing sleeves, again in size 18 and 10.
This too is incredibly soft and looked really cute over the dress, which we wore two different ways, with the belt underneath and the belt inside.
It’s sure to be a favourite this season – priced at just £22 – although Katy’s mom has already claimed hers.
Finally, for a day of drinks and tapas with friends, we opted for a classic black dress, made of crepe material.
We tried the tie-neck midi dress in sizes 10 and 18. While it is super comfortable and can look chic, it wasn’t our favorite.
Katy said that from a plus size perspective, a tie at the waist can be very flattering, but there’s a little creased detail above the waist that turns us off.
This is one that needs to be tried to see if it works. to take.
Overall we were very happy with our Tu haul. There are some great basics that we will wear again and again and the sizing is perfect for our ages and sizes.
