In her viral videoTikTok user Shauna (@shauna_thefairydogmother) named the breeds she would never want as pets.

In her first choice she indicated that she would not want a cockapoo.

However, the groomer admitted that she had no real reason for this decision, other than the fact that many people own this popular breed.

She added that cockapoos “have a lot of hair that needs to be tamed.”

Shauna also said she would never want to have a West Highland Terrier.

She explained that this was the first time she had groomed this breed and that was why she wanted one, but later learned about the health problems associated with it.

The TikToker estimated that 90% of the Westies she cared for had health problems.

“I’ve never seen a dog so prone to skin problems,” Shauna told her audience.

She also mentioned other breeds that were known for their own ailments, mostly related to breathing.

The breeds she most commonly encountered with breathing problems were pugs, English bulldogs and Shar-Pei’s.

Vet Reveals Worst Dog Breeds to Own

Although it is not certain that all of these dogs are in poor health, she explains that the risk is too great for her.

Shauna explained that she was “pained” to say that her next no-go dog breed was a German Shepherd.

She said her father was “badly mauled” by two German Shepherds and while she doesn’t blame the breed, she wouldn’t want one for his sake.

Finally, the professional groomer said she would never choose a “small, fluffy dog.”

While she didn’t go into detail about her decision, she said she did it because she prefers a dog that requires less grooming.
