Are you a risk taker or a ‘play it safe Polly’? Take the quiz to find out
HOW big are you at taking risks? Are you a ‘Go for it Gary’ or a ‘Play It Safe Polly?’
Take this fun quiz to find out if you’re someone who throws caution to the wind – literally – by going outside on a cloudy day without a coat.
This is according to research among 2,000 adults that revealed the most common everyday risks, including eating something out of date, leaving a phone with a low battery and not taking an umbrella on a grey day.
Arriving at a restaurant without a reservation, crossing the road when a red man is standing on it and driving through an orange traffic light were also on the top 30 risks taken by Britons.
Running from the shower to another room to grab a towel, drinking a cup of coffee before bed, and hanging the laundry on the line without paying attention to the weather were also part of it.
A spokesperson for the Lottoland.co.uk casino, which commissioned the research, said: “We are a country of small risk takers.
“Sometimes the chances we take can pay off – like showing up at a fancy restaurant without a reservation, or trying our luck at a card game.
“But other things, like going out without a bank card or driving without gas in the tank, are probably better avoided.
“We like to say: what is life without taking a chance every now and then?
“As long as you’re safe and smart, adding a dash of innocent risk to your day can make the small victories feel like big victories.”
The survey also found that 65 percent of them consider themselves to be risk takers in everyday life.
27 percent often do not think about the consequences, while 96 percent have seen that a risky situation ultimately pays off.
And that made 20 percent feel elated and 15 percent feel like a winner.
Saturday also turned out to be the most common day to take a gamble.
And 20 percent are most likely to take risks in their social lives, while only six percent would take a risk when it comes to their work.
