Ben Affleck and ex Jennifer Lopez are taking a huge hit after accepting an offer on their $68 million Beverly Hills wedding mansion
Ben Affleck and his estranged wife Jennifer Lopez have attempted to sell their $68 million former marital home, but failed.
The stars, who are currently in the process of mediating their “tricky” divorce with attorney Laura Wasser, purchased the home in May 2023 for $60.8 million — and had received and accepted a $64 million offer from a New Jersey couple, per TMZ.
However, the sale of the home is now in jeopardy after the unknown buyers pulled out of escrow following a death in their family.
When a property is no longer in escrow, it means that something went wrong with the sale of the property or with some other aspect of the transaction.
Once this happens, the contract for the property is broken and it is put up for sale again.
The buyers were reportedly “in love” with their 3,500-square-foot mansion, which the former couple listed on Zillow in July for a staggering $68 million.

The stars purchased the lavish home in May 2023 for $60.8 million — and had received and accepted a $64 million offer from a New Jersey couple, according to TMZ
Despite backing out of an escrow agreement, the insider claimed the New Jersey couple “are still interested in the property.”
Affleck, 52, and Lopez, 55, paid cash for the estate and “spent several million on renovations.”
In addition, the two-time Oscar winner and superstar had to pay 5.25 percent tax on the mansion and a “hefty fee to the real estate agents,” according to TMZ.
Crucially, the proposed sale of the home would mark a significant division of the $550 million in assets owned by the exes, who married without a prenuptial agreement in 2022.
Lopez’s assets account for $400 million of their treasury. Affleck is reportedly worth $150 million.
The property, known as Crestview Manor, includes a 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom main house, as well as a 5,000-square-foot guest apartment, plus a two-bedroom caretaker’s cottage, a caretaker’s house and a 12-car garage.
Amenities include a bar, fitness room, sports lounge, bar, boxing ring, basketball and pickleball courts, and parking for 80 vehicles.
Earlier this month, a source revealed to People that the former couple were not on the same page when they bought the property.
“The $68 million mansion was Ben’s idea and a big compromise for her,” a source told the outlet.

Lopez poses in the 12-bedroom mansion
“She agreed to it because of the spacious layout, which would accommodate both families, a gym and pickleball court, office space and two private entrances,” the insider added, noting that the layout was ideal for Ben’s children — Violet, 18; Finn, 15; and Samuel, 12 — and JLo’s 16-year-old twins, Max and Emme.
According to the outlet’s source, the mansion’s ultra-modern look didn’t really suit the Jenny From The Block singer’s style.
“She loves the romantic, Spanish, European vibe,” they said.
But once they settled in, Ben wasn’t exactly thrilled with the place either.
The source claimed that Ben found it difficult and time-consuming to manage traffic from his home, since he and his children are based in Brentwood, and that he never liked the location.
The Batman actor has since purchased a new bachelor pad, which cost $20.5 million.
While J.Lo and Ben are dividing their assets, a source told People that their ongoing divorce “could potentially end ugly” since they haven’t signed a prenuptial agreement.
The source noted that there are “some financial issues” between the couple, who married at The Little White Chapel in Las Vegas.
Lopez wrote in her divorce filing, which listed the date of separation as April 26, 2024, that their assets were “unknown.”
Under California law, only the income and assets they earned during their short-lived marriage are considered “community property and can be divided.”

This includes their Beverly Hills mansion and a number of projects and sponsorship deals they have signed since they got married.
They are currently engaged in mediation, a less formal and faster alternative to a traditional divorce.
According to Wagner & Bloch’s website, “divorce mediation is an alternative dispute resolution procedure in which an outside mediator guides a divorcing couple in resolving issues related to property division, child custody, alimony, and other divorce matters.”
Jennifer seems to be doing well despite the divorce. According to a source, she is “still very happy” despite the “bitterness” surrounding the divorce.
“The $68 million mansion was Ben’s idea and a big compromise for her,” a source told People
“She tried so hard to make everything work and Ben didn’t care. She’s surrounded by family, friends and her kids,” the insider told People.
Jennifer and Ben officially separated on April 26. On August 20, the actress filed for divorce in Los Angeles County Superior Court, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
On Tuesday night, the estranged couple attended their children’s school year start night in Los Angeles, which caused quite a stir, according to TMZ.
Attendees noted that Lopez and Affleck appeared friendly and relaxed in their interactions with other parents and students.
Although the two got along well during their relationship, insiders indicate that a reconciliation is not in the cards for the couple. Both prefer to go their separate ways after the divorce.
This comes after PageSix claimed she and Ben, from whom she filed for divorce last month, couldn’t keep his hands off her during a family brunch at the Beverly Hills Hotel a few days ago.
It was also alleged that Ben kissed Jennifer because he was still “attracted” to her.
Lopez hasn’t posted much on Instagram since her split from Affleck in April, which could be a sign that things are looking up for her.
It is unknown whether she is back together with Ben.
A source told PageSix that Ben and Jennifer were ‘holding hands and kissing in the Polo Lounge of the Beverly Hills Hotel.’
The insider explained that their children were also nearby at the restaurant, “but at a separate table.” At the end of brunch, Bennifer’s ex Jennifer Garner picked her and Affleck’s two children, Fin and Samuel, up while Bennifer left in the car together.
DailyMail.com has reached out to representatives for comment on the PDA’s shocking claims, but has not received a response.
However, people continued to insist the divorce was still ongoing, despite PageSix claiming the exes hugged and kissed.
According to reports, Lopez is trying to “be nice” to her Affleck, for the sake of their children.
The singer/actress split from the Hollywood actor in April after less than two years of marriage. She filed for divorce on August 20, the day of their second wedding anniversary.
The former couple were photographed enjoying brunch with their children in Los Angeles over the weekend.
It is said that Jennifer wants to remain on good terms with her ex for the sake of their children.
A source told PEOPLE, “They all got together for a nice lunch so the kids could chill. [Lopez is] trying to be nice to Ben. They’re still going through the divorce.’
The insider added, “Divorce is never easy, but Jennifer doesn’t want to be selfish about it. The kids always got along well and had fun together. It makes her happy to see the kids happy together. Happy kids are her priority.”
The former couple were photographed at the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles on Saturday, along with Ben’s children Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12, and Jennifer’s 16-year-old twins Emme and Max with ex Marc Anthony.
Ben is also the father of 18-year-old Violet, who is in college, from his marriage to Jennifer Garner.
Lopez was engaged to Hollywood actor Ben in the early 2000s, but the relationship ended shortly before they were set to marry.

Jennifer and Ben first met on the set of Martin Brest’s 2001 flop Gigli in Los Angeles, but split abruptly just three days before their wedding in 2004.
After their breakup, they both married others. Jennifer married Anthony in 2004 and Ben married Garner in 2005.
After both marriages ended, the two rekindled their romance in 2021. They first exchanged vows in a modest chapel ceremony in Las Vegas in July 2022, followed by a more grand celebration at Ben’s Georgia estate the following month.
