I’m a vegetarian these days, but back in my meat-eating days, a good steak was one of my greatest culinary pleasures. But maybe I’m not such an expert after all, because I’d never heard of ROUND in this context. Which was a bit of an unfortunate fact, since it was the first answer I found today – but it didn’t do much to clarify what I was looking for.
Luckily, I came across BRISKET not long after, which I had heard of. Then all I had to do was find the other words, including the spangram for BEEFCUTS, and I was good to go and finish this meaty puzzle.

Strands is the new word game from the NYT, following Wordle and Connections. It is now out of beta and is thus a full member of the NYT stable of games and can be played on the NYT Games site on desktop or mobile.
