A WOMAN has revealed how she transformed her home from drab to fabulous – all on a budget.

DIY enthusiast Kelly Jane said she bought cheap items from Amazon, thrift stores and flea markets to give her living room a major makeover.

In addition, the woman, who is from the United Kingdom, also found free stuff in the waste containers.

Kelly was so happy with her home renovation that she shared a before and after close-up of her house on social media, leaving many people amazed.

Post message on DIY on a Budget Officiala closed Facebook group with 2.2 million members, Kelly shared her impressive living room makeover, writing: “From drab to fabulous…something we’ve been saving up for, it’s been a labour of love since January.”

What was once a very dated space, with old carpet, mismatched furniture and a lack of personality, has now undergone a total transformation.

Nowadays, the living room is not only incredibly trendy and stylish, but also super cozy and homely.

Kelly replaced the carpet with new flooring, got rid of her old couches and gave the wall a chic makeover with paneling.

The DIY enthusiast said she bought sideboards on Amazon for £55 each and used them as TV stands.

And that’s not all, she added: “Our sofa (the white one) was free to take away and we will probably buy another cover as they are available at IKEA.”

She confirmed that she had removed the fireplace herself and that, with some help from her father, they had made the wainscoting themselves using MDF panels.

She continued: “We did all the painting and filling.

I’m a single mum with no DIY skills but redid my bathroom for £10 thanks to a purchase from Poundland – people say I ‘messed it up’

“I find all my plant pots, containers and the like in thrift stores and flea markets, sometimes even without contents.

“We got our carpets from family.

When the room was nearly finished, Kelly wrote, “New carpets and pillows expected.”
