New Samsung Galaxy S10 tablets include AI features and S Pen
Samsung is once again betting on AI with the introduction of two new tablets with large screens, a higher price and a dedicated AI button on the keyboard covers. These are sold separately.
The company says The new Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, which comes with a 14.6-inch display, and its sibling, the Galaxy Tab S10+, are the company’s first tablets “purpose-built for AI.” The AI improvements come in the form of more processing power to make AI tasks more responsive, software for managing AI-enabled devices in the home, and other tweaks including improved handwriting conversion and multi-speaker transcription.
As for the handwriting upgrade, both devices, which start at $1,199.99 and $999.99 respectively, come with an S Pen stylus and anti-glare AMOLED displays. Samsung has yet to release images or pricing information for the Book Cover Keyboard accessories that come with these tablets and include the AI button.
The company said its Samsung.com store and Best buy will offer a trade-in of up to $800 for both tablets. Pre-orders have already started and the tablets will be available in Moonstone Gray and Platinum Silver colors starting October 3.
Aside from the AI features, both tablets come equipped with Wi-Fi 7, have 13MP + 8MP ultra-wide cameras on the rear, and 12MP ultra-wide cameras on the front. The Ultra model also has a 12MP front-facing camera in addition to the ultra-wide. Both include MicroSD slots for expandable storage beyond the various RAM sizes they come in, ranging from 256GB all the way up to 1TB for the Ultra, and 256GB all the way up to 512GB for the S10+.
The Ultra has an 11,200mAh battery, while the S10+ has a 10,090mAh battery. Both models charge at 45W.
