My Vinted hack increases mentions without spending extra time on it
A RESELLING pro has revealed the clever hack she uses on Vinted to write long descriptions in seconds.
Emily has made a name for herself on social media thanks to her skills in finding gemstones at thrift stores, car boots and flea markets, which she then sells on for a profit.
But instead of spending hours writing descriptions for the parts she sells on sites like Vinted, she’s found a clever way to do it in a fraction of the time.
She explained in a video on her TikTok pageas she said, “I use AI, ChatGPT, to write my item descriptions.
“There’s a paid version and a free version, but on the free version you can actually take two photos per day so you can still use this feature.”
She actually uses the paid version of the app and adds four images of the item: the front, the back, any text, and any labels.
After checking that she has included all the important information, she writes: “Write item descriptions and titles and bullet points of important information using -. and hashtags.”
Emily then presses the button and generates a whole bunch of text describing the item in much more detail.
In addition to giving her a “piece of text to sell the product,” the key features are listed, followed by the hashtags.
“All these words here are keywords, which means your item will be shown to more buyers,” Emily said of the hashtags.
Once that’s done, she copies and pastes the description into Vinted, making sure to remove all unnecessary punctuation and the hit list.
Emily added that she is also trying to increase the size of items at the moment as she finds it helps the sales process.
She ended her video by showing off the app she used for the hack.
In the caption for the video, Emily wrote: “This is a gamechanger!! I cheat with ChatGPT to write my item descriptions.
“I’m terrible at writing, it’s not my strong suit, and this has made it so much easier for me!”
She added in response to a comment: “It saves me so much time – it’s totally worth it to me because without this program I wouldn’t be able to get loads listed!”
Do you have to pay taxes on items sold on Vinted?
QUICK tax facts from the team at Vinted…
- The only time an item can be taxable is if it sells for more than £6,000 and there is a profit (sells for more than you paid for it). Even then, you can use your £3,000 tax-free allowance to offset this.
- In general, only business sellers who trade for profit (buying goods with the intention of selling them for more money than they paid for them) may have to pay taxes. Business sellers trading for profit can take advantage of a £1,000 tax-free allowance, which has been in place since 2017.
