The schoolboy killer has imprisoned for stabbing a colleague student with a knife that he bought online, has been released and is back on the street.

Daniel Stroud, who was then 16 and is now 25, was released last year after a nine-year prison sentence for wearing an offensive weapon at a school and the culpable murder of 16-year-old Bailey Gwynne, who dreamed of becoming one Marinier.

Stroud, a part -time employee of McDonald's, got his fifth -year schoolmate in the chest during the lunch break in a school course of the respected cult Academy of Aberdeen after a fight about a cookie in October 2015.

During his murder process in 2016, Stroud said that he was constantly plagued about being fat and brought weapons to school to try to impress the other children.

The murderer – reportedly a troubled misfit with a difficult home living – bought the £ 40 knife on Amazon.

During the trial in the Supreme Court in Edinburgh, Ian Duguid QC, defensive, told the court that Stroud intended to return to the area where he lived when he was released “if his family and support network are there” but said the boy had realized that he was confronted with a 'very limited future'.

The news of his release comes when another teenager was stabbed dead at a school south of the border.

A 15-year-old boy appeared on the Sheffield Youth Court accused of murder, possession of an article and Affray after Harvey Willgoose, also 15, died on Monday.

He was stabbed through the heart with a hunting knife during a lunch -fight at All Saints Catholic High School in Sheffield.

Details of Stroud's release also come only a few days after new figures showed a frightening increase in the number of students using Dangerous Weapons Scotland.

The SNP stand accused of chairing a 'frightening collapse of the discipline in the schools of Scotland' after an increase in the number of students who use dangerous weapons.

Figures obtained by the Scottish conservatives show that in the three years since the pandemic cases, the police of students who used 'an offensive weapon' or 'article with a knife or point' have been reported to the police.

This represents an increase of 50 percent compared to the 194 cases that were reported to the police directly before Covid in the three -year period. The number of cases of students reported by the police who have a dangerous weapon also rose from 628 to 702 (12%) in the same pre- and post-strandemic windows.

The figures were unveiled in a reaction to spokesman for the Scottish Conservative Education Miles Briggs from SNP Justice Secretary Angela Constance.

He said: “The death of Bailey Gwynne was a tragedy that shocked the entire Scotland. Although no students have been killed by knives in Scottish schools since then, the problem of weapons in schools in the intervening decade has grown.

'Almost a decade after the horrible death of Bailey Gwynne, it is essential that all possible steps are taken to minimize the chances that such a tragedy will ever be repeated.

“The discipline at our schools collapsed on the SNP watch and students, parents and teachers live daily for fear of violence.”

Mr. Briggs has now insisted on SNP ministers to 'get a grip' on school discipline and to bring 'common sense' back to the classroom so that students and teachers can feel safe.

“The enormous increase in students who use dangerous weapons emphasizes a frightening collapse of discipline in the schools of Scotland under the SNP,” he added.

'Students, parents, councils and trade unions have been warned for years about the rising tide of violence in the classroom.

'We have had a lot of handwinging and warm words from the SNP, but precious small action to tackle this growing problem.

'This week we learned that teachers have to take industrial action at a school in East -Dunbartonshire because they say that students have no consequences for violent and offensive behavior.

'Ministers must now get a grip on this crisis and bring some common sense to the class, so that students, teachers and support staff can feel safe in schools.

“This includes following a zero tolerance approach to weapon dependence, introducing educational programs and reducing the enormous waiting times for references of child and adolescent mental health care.”

Assistant -Head Commissioner Mark Sutherland of Police Scotland said: 'A weapon in a school is too much.

“We continue to work with partners and to concentrate on early intervention and prevention activities to support and inform young people about the risks and consequences related to such crimes.”

A spokesperson for the Scottish government said: “This government remains determined in our determination to tackle knife crime.

“We continue to work with schools and local authorities to improve the safety and well -being of all students to prevent incidents, after the tragic death of Bailey Gwynne and the findings of the Independent Review.”
