She said: “So Jeremy Clarkson is actually paying my mortgage this month, which sounds absolutely crazy to say but it’s true.”

Ali revealed that although he paid for her share of the mortgage she shares with her partner, he had no idea he was helping her financially.

And the reason why had everything to do with social media.

The young woman had been creating content on TikTok and recently visited Jeremy Clarkson’s new pub nearby, called The Farmer’s Dog.

The new pub follows on from the huge success Jeremy saw with his Clarkson Farm, also located in the Cotswolds, which became a hit TV show when he showed the difficulties farmers face.

Showing people around the new pub with a pop-up coffee station, shop and restaurant with fantastic views of the rolling hills, it’s the perfect lunch spot for a weekend away in the countryside.

Luckily, Ali had just been accepted into TikTok’s creator fund and the video, featuring the man himself, went viral with over 2 million views, leading to her visiting to pay off her mortgage this month.

Ali added: “Luckily for me, I had just been accepted into the Creator Fund the day before, which was honestly a miracle.

“And yes, it did very well, I had a very good RPM on it too.

“And while he doesn’t pay the full mortgage, he does pay my share of the mortgage.”

Clarkson’s Farm’s Kaleb Cooper reveals NONE of the team get a discount at new pub The Farmer’s Dog

The RPM is how TikTok calculates how much money the creator should get every time someone watches their video for more than a minute.

TikTok bosses say: “The money any creator can make is determined by a combination of factors – including the number of views and the authenticity of those views, the level of engagement with the content, and ensuring the content is in line with our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.

“No two creators or videos are the same, and there is no limit to the different types of content we will support with the fund.

“The Creator Fund total varies daily and depends on the number of videos published by our community that day – so this will fluctuate based on the amount of content published.”

Meet the cast of Clarkson’s Farm

Clarkson’s Farm started streaming in 2021 and follows Jeremy Clarkson and his team as they run Diddly Squat Farm in the Cotswolds. Here’s a who’s who of faces in the cast of Clarkson’s Farm.

  • Jeremy Clarkson: Presenter and journalist; also known from Top Gear, The Grand Tour and Who Wants to be a Millionaire?
  • Lisa Hogan: A former actress and Jeremy’s partner, who helps run the farm shop.
  • Caleb Kuiper: A young farm worker from Chipping Norton, who forms a double act with Jeremy on screen. He is later promoted to farm manager in series three.
  • Gerard Kuiper: Specialist in the construction and maintenance of dry stone walls and the “head of security” of the farm. No relationship whatsoever with Kaleb.
  • Charlie Ireland: Nicknamed “Cheerful Charlie”, a professional land agent who advises Jeremy on land management.

Ali was rightly raved about how well the video did and revealed that other people should ‘go for it’ when it comes to creating online content to make money.

“I hope this video has been inspiring in some way,” she continued.

‘Just keep going. If you’ve started, if you want to start, just do it.’

People were quick to share their thoughts in the comments section of the clip shared to her TikTok account @aliinthecotswolds.

One person wrote: “I needed this today. Thanks for the inspiration.”

Another commented: “This is so funny and it lifted my mood today so thank you. You explain it so well.”

“Wow, this is so good for you!” wrote a third.

Meanwhile, a fourth said: “Yessss! This is what we love to see!”

“Absolutely love this, well done, hope you continue to grow,” claimed a fifth.

Someone else added: “Great news! Well done for persevering.”
