Fans fume over ‘outrageous’ prices of Molly-Mae’s new range, including £140 blazer

The 25-year-old influencer has been criticized for “not knowing her audience” after revealing how much she charges for a basic T-shirt, jeans and blazers.

Molly-Mae announced her fashion label on September 9 after much speculation on TikTok.

The mother of one said Maebe was “three years in the making” and is now finally ready to launch.

Fans can purchase the range tonight at 7pm.

However, until this morning, Molly-Mae and her team had kept the prices of Maebe items strictly secret.

Last night she admitted on Instagram that “a lot of people” had asked her for the price list so they “knew exactly what they wanted” before the launch.

Molly-Mae and her team honored the requests and released the prices at 10am today, a few hours before the clothes were due to go live.

But fans are not impressed.

Many have criticized the “excessive” prices – which range between £35 and £140 – and wondered why the range is “so expensive”.

Maebe’s ‘ultimate blazer’ costs a whopping £140, while a white T-shirt costs £35 and jeans £90.

The “contour popper top” costs £50, while an office-friendly white shirt costs a whopping £65.

“Why does Molly-Mae’s new range have to be so expensive?” moaned one shopper on X, formerly Twitter.

“Molly-Mae charging an arm and a leg for basic clothing is outrageous,” said another.

A number of social media users wondered if Molly-Mae “knows her audience.”

“Maebe is way too expensive – £35 for a literal T-shirt,” one person criticized.

“Does she realize that many of her followers are young girls, college students or adults with mortgages to pay?”

What are the Maebe prices?

  • Outing top – £55
  • Challenge Trousers – £60
  • Fully Tied Up Shirt – £65
  • Contour popper top – £50
  • Denim jeans with seam – £90
  • Dreamer Pointelle T-shirt – £35
  • The Ultimate Blazer – £140
  • Cozy cropped cardigan – £60

Another detractor wrote on TikTok: “I’m very disappointed because I thought that since her audience is mainly young girls, they would be reasonable.”

Other shoppers on Instagram moaned that they are “too broke for Maebe” and said that “£140 for a blazer is wild”.

One moaned: “£50 for a button up top is very ridiculous.”

“IT’S NOT SHEIN”

However, not everyone was annoyed by the launch.

Some fans were quick to defend Molly-Mae, still promising to “fill their baskets” when the Maebe site goes live.

“Anyone complaining about the price needs to realize this isn’t Shein,” said one fan on Instagram.

“She goes for a higher class brand.

“It will sell out because many people can actually afford it, unlike those who complain about the price.”

Another retaliated: “The prices aren’t even bad.

“She sells nice quality basics that will last you for years, not £3 Shein tops.”
