Verizon is experiencing a network outage. Here’s everything we know so far
If you’re using Verizon in the United States and experiencing dropped calls or slower service, you’re not alone. Based on dozens of reports about Down detectorand customers using social platforms such as Threads and X, Verizon may experience an outage.
Via Down Detector, it appears that the problems started around 9:35 a.m. ET and have increased since then, with customers reporting that they are not receiving a signal on the network. We’ve reached out to Verizon for comment on the outage and what’s happening with the network. We’ll update this story as soon as we hear back, but in the meantime, follow our live coverage of the outage.
Most customers notice outgoing and incoming calls failing and users reporting network instability. Additionally, some people with iPhones may see the cellular service bars in the top right replaced by SOS, which usually appears when there is no network connection.
