My ex stalks me – I hide his emails, but there’s a reason I keep them
NETFLIX’s Baby Reindeer highlighted the dangers of stalking the public.
A woman has shared her experience with an ex-boyfriend who she says has harassed her since their break-up.
Although the legitimacy of the Baby Reindeer story is now up for debate, TikTok user Laura Ghiacy (@lauraghiacy) said her ex’s actions made her “so scared.”
In her viral videothe LA-based personal trainer explained how she “deals with having a stalker.”
Laura explained how she has set up a filtering system for her emails so that every contact from him goes straight into a ‘special folder’.
She revealed that an average of 25 to 30 emails are delivered to the folder every month.

The TikToker described feeling “quite shocked” when her ex created a new account, meaning his emails hit her main inbox.
She told her audience that she hasn’t responded to his emails in 13 years.
However, she explained that she still keeps all his correspondence for security reasons.
“Sometimes I read them because my biggest fear is that I’m going to read them and he’s going to say, ‘Fun fact, I’m in the same condition as you,’” Laura said.
“I don’t block. There’s a part of me that’s so scared that I need his emails as evidence if something more serious ever happens.”
She revealed that her ex has previously sent messages that led her to believe he is traveling to her area.
Laura said his emails included everything from his obsession with her social media to lies about him being drafted into the NFL.
She added that she can sometimes find the “comedic value” in the latter.
The TikTokers explained that she thinks the emails are her ex’s attempt to “gain control.”
On the other hand, her lack of involvement has served as her way of gaining control.
Laura’s followers shared their thoughts on the situation in the comments section.
What should you do if you suspect you are being stalked?
Tony Neate, CEO of Get Safe Online, told Sun Online: “The perpetrators typically obtain details about you from online information about personal and financial affairs, social and professional life, relationships and your location.
To start, make sure that only the minimum information about you is available online and take stalking seriously.
Report it before it has serious consequences for you and others and keep track of everything that happens so you can gather evidence as it happens.

“Keep doing your best, hang in there and stay strong. Be smart and document, document, document,” one viewer advised.
“Restriction order! Maybe the service will stop him,” another TikTok user suggested.
“That’s absolutely insane! Shaking my head, I’m so sorry the police didn’t take any action to stop this,” a third person said.
“My advice is ignore, ignore, ignore. If you ever respond, you just fulfilled his fantasy,” another follower commented.
“Don’t delete them. You’ll probably need the evidence someday, hopefully just for a restraining order,” said one commenter.
