Legendary NFL tight end Randy Moss made a tearful return to ESPN to Super Bowl Lix in New Orleans on Sunday months after doctors found and removed a cancer -like mass between his pancreas and liver.

“Hey, I couldn't do it alone, and I really thank you,” Moss said through tears on the ESPN set in the Superdome after an on-Air tribute of people like Tom Brady and Bill Belichick.

“Hey guys, it's hard,” Moss went on, “but I have a lot of love, and many people believe in me, man, so I'm happy to be here.”

ESPN -Gastheer Mike Greenberg immediately after the tribute to 'we told him, we would not do that', before we promise that this would be the last sincere moment on the program.

“That is a message from the entire football world, and we are very happy to have here,” Greenberg told his fellow host.

“Greeny, don't do it again,” Moss laughed through his tears. “Let's start this show.”

Moss also thanked some of his supporters to help return to the air, including: “The Prayer Warriors, my doctors, my beautiful woman for traveling with me.”

“I defeated this thing, and my goal was to be here with you,” Moss told his fellow hosts Greenberg, Rex Ryan, Alex Smith and Teddy Bruschi. “So, man, God bless you that you stay strong with me, with the prayers.”

In November a number of fans were concerned about the health of Moss when his eyes were yellow on ESPN.

A month ago, Moss made the shock of his health, who appeared next to his sons on a live video of Instagram to tell fans that he had undergone an operation of six hours and could not walk without a walking stick.

About his cancer fight in December, Moss said: “I have told you in recent weeks that I fought something internally, and Ya Boy is a survivor of cancer.”

He then revealed: 'I had cancer, they found it in the bile ducts, exactly between the pancreas and the liver, and the cancer was right outside the bile ducts.

'So my doctors went in, I had six hours of operation and for many of you ask you, you can google it. I had a Whipple procedure. The best doctor in the United States, dr [John] Martinie, I am grateful forever. '
