This is the shocking moment that a female police officer turns her patrol car before lying and says that an animal ran in front of the vehicle.

Police agent Charlotte Morris appeared for a disciplinary panel to explain why she came up with the story about an animal ran for her vehicle, which she said she crashed, leaving the car on the roof.

The police officer of Thames Valley rode on 27 August 2023 in Eton Wick, Berkshire, when she hit a parked BMW, which caused minor damage to the car.

While she was treated in the hospital for minor injuries, she claimed that she avoided a fox or tie in the way, but images showed the car to cut the BMW at speed before she hit the other side of the road and to the roof threw.

The panel discovered that she had just 'driven' the car in the BMW and found her guilty of coarse misconduct and said that her lie was an example of 'operational unfairness'.

Morris, who was previously established in Slough, was fired without notification.

In February 2024 she admitted a crime of careless driving and she received five fine on her driver's license, and ordered a fine of £ 266, £ 90 in costs and a £ 106 victim allowance.

The panel discovered that the crash had had a 'serious impact in the field of injuries and stress' on the former officer. She suffered from a slight head injury and a back injury, for which some physiotherapy was needed.

She was in the car with a colleague at the time of the crash, but neither of them sustained permanent injuries

The panel said it was sorry that she would be fired, but noted that it was the least serious outcome that it could pass in view of the misconduct rules of Thames Valley Police.

In the verdict it said: 'If the public was aware of the actions of this officer to deliberately lie to avoid or reduce the negative consequences of the accident, it would have a very serious negative effect on the confidence of it public in the police. '
