My mother got pregnant after an affair, but said I was STILLBORN because I was black
A WOMAN has left people stunned after telling how her mother told everyone she was stillborn because she was black.
Alicia explained that her biological mother, who is white, was married to a white man — with whom she had three children — but had an affair with a black man during their marriage.
The infidelity resulted in her mother becoming pregnant, which in turn alerted her husband to the fact that she had been unfaithful and that the baby was not his.
But even though her husband knew the truth, he was the only one, as she “deceived her family and friends throughout her pregnancy into thinking the baby was her husband’s,” Alicia said in her speech. TikTok video.
“So for nine months, her friends and family thought she and her husband were going to have another baby.
“Everyone was really excited about having their fourth child. And when I was born, all her friends and family were so excited about this baby.

“And then she told them I had died.
“When in reality I was fully born and given up for adoption to my two wonderful parents.”
Alicia added that her birth mother thought “that was the best thing to do” at the time because she didn’t want anyone to know the truth about her baby’s real father.
In the following video, Alicia explained how she felt about her mother putting her up for adoption.
“The answer may be very surprising to you,” she said.
‘I don’t really mind that she did that.
“She thought that was the best thing she could do at the time.
“Like, yeah, it’s messed up that she told me I died, but at the same time she thought that was the best thing to do.”
Alicia added that she only found out about this the day before she turned 18, when she met her birth mother for the first time.
“When she told me honestly, my first reaction was to feel sorry for her because she is the one who has to carry this lie all her life,” she said.
“It still breaks my heart for her because to this day her friends and family don’t know I exist.”
Alicia also said in another video that she “thanked” her birth mother for putting her up for adoption at another meeting, otherwise she wouldn’t have been raised by her adoptive parents.
How does adoption work?
In the UK, there is a lengthy process involved in adopting a child and it can take up to six months for the paperwork to be completed.
To even qualify, you must meet the following criteria:
- You must be over 21
- You must be legally resident in Great Britain for at least 12 months.
- No criminal convictions, especially if related to child endangerment. This applies to everyone in your household.
You will also need to undergo an initial background check and assessment to determine if you are suitable for adoption.
Potential parents will also have to undergo a training and process to match them with the right child.
And although she is now a professional ballerina, it would have been very unlikely that she would have been able to have that career if she had stayed with her birth mother.
“I’m glad she found you a wonderful, loving family!” someone wrote in the comments.
“You had a wonderful family and love that she couldn’t give you! I’m sorry she felt like she had to make up the lie, but I’m glad you were loved in the end.”
“This shows your big heart, the compassion you have for her speaks volumes about how well your parents raised you,” another added.
“The fact that you feel sympathy for her is so heartwarming. You are such a sweet person,” praised a third.
