A Ukrainian female Powerlifting champion is said to have been deployed in Russia with killing the purpose of killing a top defense officer, is caught according to reports.
Yulia Lemeshchenko, 41, was one of the four female agents who were held by the FSB Security Service, claims of Russian media.
She had a Russian passport and Kiev used this to use her to find out enemy lines and to remove a leading military target, the FSB claims.
Lemeshchenko bears witness to an FSB video, but it is not known whether she was put under pressure to confess to recruitment during the war.
She was held in her flat in the city of Voronezh in mid -January and it is unclear why the Russians have only revealed her in detention.
The athlete was a Ukrainian winner from 2021 in the classic Powerlifting championship and secure three gold medals.
“In 2023 I was recruited by the Ukrainian security services,” she said on a video that is shared online.
“I was trained in Kiev and gained skills in dealing with handfather weapons, operating drones, avoiding surveillance and making explosive devices,” she said, adding that her handler gave her the alias 'Luffy'.

“I had to plant an explosive in his office,” she said, referring to her target.
