He added: “As it stands, the pug is so overbred and has so many health problems that are getting worse from generation to generation that I wouldn’t want to own such a dog.

“Until they change the pug with a slightly longer nose and put it back where it used to be, it wouldn’t be a dog I’ll ever have.”

Caucasian Shepherd Dog

Finally, the dog trainer explained that while he has “nothing against” Caucasian Shepherd Dogs, he does not live in an environment where he would need such a dog.

He claimed that these dogs are very “large”, “hairy” and “powerful” herding dogs.

As a result, he said, “I don’t live on a farm high in the mountains where I have to protect my livestock from wolves and bears, so that’s why it doesn’t make sense to have a dog like that.”

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @dogpuntusaclearly left many with their mouths open as it quickly went viral and has since amassed a whopping 2.4 million views.

But social media users were shocked by the man’s claims and many were quick to disagree in the comments, especially on his thoughts on Chihuahuas.

Another added: “Chihuahuas are great dogs. What are you talking about?”

A third commented: “My Chihuahua is the sweetest dog ever. Such a good girl.”

Someone else claimed: “I’m completely wrong about one thing.”

While another angrily chimed in: “Against you.”

Should I hire a professional dog trainer and how much will it cost?

If you’re wondering whether you should hire a professional dog trainer, here’s everything you need to know…

Benefits of hiring a professional dog trainer:

Expertise: Professional trainers have specialist knowledge and experience in dealing with various breeds and behavioral problems.

Personalized training plans: Trainers can tailor their approach to your dog’s specific needs and temperament.

Efficiency: A professional can often achieve results faster than an inexperienced owner.

Behavioral improvement: Addressing issues such as aggression, anxiety or excessive barking can lead to a more harmonious household.

Socialization: Trainers can help your dog get along well with other dogs and people.

Costs of professional dog training:

Private sessions: This usually ranges from €30 to €100 per hour, depending on the experience and location of the trainer.

Group lessons: It usually costs between £10 and £30 per session, often as a course over several weeks.

Board and train programs: These intensive programs, where your dog stays with the trainer, can cost between £500 and £1,500 per week.

Online courses: More budget-friendly options, ranging from £50 to £200 for a full course, although less personalised.
