A wheelchair -bound man died after being hit by a train in Brisbane.
Emergency services were called on Tuesday at around 11.40 am to the Coorparoo train station in the southeast of Brisbane on Tuesday.
The man, in his twenty, was hit by an empty tilt train with first responds who cover a wheelchair with a sailor on the spot.
“Today at 11:45 am an empty tilt train met a person in the Stanley Street East Level Crossing in Coorparoo,” said a Queensland Rail spokesperson.
'Our thoughts are with everyone involved in this incident, including our train team.
“Queensland Ambulance and Queensland Police Services are available and we work on location with emergency services.”
The police closed roads to traffic and pedestrians were encouraged to avoid the area.
Rail replacement bus were organized for commuters who used the Cleveland line because they were warned to expect delays of up to 60 minutes in both directions.

Emergency services rushed to the Coorparoo train station on Tuesday morning after reports that a man was hit by a train
“Cleveland Line trains are currently being suspended in both directions due to an incident that requires emergency services,” “Translink earlier on X.
The Spirit of Queensland Tilt train worked on the Cleveland line because of the closure of the exhibition line for the Cross River Rail Works.
The tilt train left the level of intersection after the incident, around 2.57 pm.
The intersection of Stanley Street East Level was reopened to the public just after 3 p.m.
