Sir Keir Starmer has revealed how he escapes Downing Street to visit his local Boozer for a pint – while the prime minister praised the importance of pubs.
He said that he had made the four-mile trip from No10 to the Pineapple Pub, in his constitutional district of Noord-London, a 'few times' since he became prime minister in July.
“There is nothing better than going to the local for a pint, including myself,” said Sir Keir.
The prime minister praised the importance of pubs as places 'where friends, family, community come together'.
And he offered his support to 'keep our pubs open' – although Chancellor Rachel Reeves worked in her budget in October in October in October.
Pub managers not only affected Mrs Reeves's national insurance to the national insurance of the employers, and also suffered a 'double Whammy' blow because of an increase in the national living wage.
Bosses have warned about the devastating impact of the Chancellor's action when placing extra costs on pubs, bars, clubs and restaurants.

Data also showed the total number of pubs in England and Wales, including those vacant and are offered to leave under 39,000 for the first time, below 39,000.
But striking on the mirror, Sir Keir pointed to Labor's decision to take a penn of the pint in the budget as an example of the support of his government for pubs.
He said: 'That was symbolic and important in the sense that we wanted to give that little bit of support to pubs, for pub goers, for those that this is an important part of their lives, and we will continue to do that.
'It's not just a company, it's a little more than that in terms of a place that is central to our communities.
“That is why we have to support our pubs, keep our pubs open and ensure that every place – every village, city, city – has many, many local pubs.”
Sir Keir and his wife Victoria were known as regulars in the pineapple, in the city of Kentish, while he was the leader of the opposition.
“We have succeeded in coming back there a few times since I was PM,” the Labor leader told the newspaper.
He added: 'They are the places where friends, family, community come together around something that is very British – the pub.
“It is a place of warmth, of opportunities, to have a good time with friends, family and people to have the friendship and involvement that is so important for their well -being.”
