A British hotel has launched a £ 1,000 cocktail that described it as a 'one -off experience'.
The expensive Tipple in the Merchant Hotel is described as a 'masterpiece of Irish whiskey'.
The City Center Hotel earned the Guinness Book of Record title for the world's most expensive cocktail in 2007 with its £ 750 Mai Tai.
However, that was overtaken in 2013 by a cocktail that was sold for £ 8,583 in Melbourne, Australia.
The Merchant Hotel launched its new cocktail menu yesterday, including a collection made with rare whiskeys from Midleton, Macallan and Michter, who start at £ 785 and go to £ 1,000.
The most expensive, the Midleton Forêt de Troncais (£ 1,000), is described as 'a masterpiece of Irish whiskey, outdated in rare French troncais oak barrels and elegant tones of honey, roasted almonds and delicate herbs', served with Antica formula and dubonet .
The menu, consisting of drinks that start from £ 14.99, was made by a team led by the general manager of the Bar, Aaron Dugan, and cocktail bar manager Emily Doherty.

Mr Dugan said: 'We are proud of bringing our unique collaboration with three icons whiskey to life with the rare and refined collection.
'These exceptional drinks are made to create unique experiences to enjoy.
'The lucky few who can try these drinks will enjoy something very special.
'And for those who find the price tag too rich, we have also made an exceptional collection of 21 cocktails, inspired by timeless classics, but with a unique turning.
'According to their taste profile, the menu is designed to help customers match their favorite taste profiles with their choices. There is really something for every taste. '
The cocktail bar at the trader is described as one of the most decorated in the UK and Ireland, and is the first and only bar in the north that gets the coveted 2 -pin status of the Pinnacle Guide.
The trader will officially receive his 2 -pin price later this month.
