He was then interviewed about the 50-year-old rocker and added: “Yes, so you're working on it with your rumors.”

He was then asked if the fight was official and revealed: 'I don't know, that's why I don't want it to be torn. I think it's! I believe we have a signed agreement for Mahomes SR to fight John Rocker at Rough n Rowdy.

Rocker is also known for its controversies. In an interview in 1999 with Jeff Pearlman of Sports Illustrated, Rocker made a series of racist and homophobic statements in a very published and discussed interview.

Rocker, who was at the Atlanta Braves at the time, called Curacaoa teammate Randall A 'Fat Monkey' and used racial stereotypes for Asian women riding on the road.

When asked by Pearlman if he had ever played for the New York Yankees or the New York Mets, Rocker gave a notorious quote and called it “the most hectic, nerve -racking city” and that he would retire before he played there.

'Imagine having to take the 7 train to the margin (Shea Stadium, former house of the Mets) that looks like you are driving through Beirut next to a child with purple hair, next to some weird with AIDS, right next to a guy That a guy I just got out of prison just for the fourth time, right next to a 20-year-old mother with four children. It is depressing.

Rocker added: 'The largest I don't like about New York are the foreigners. You can walk a whole block on Times Square and don't hear anyone who speaks English. Asians and Koreans and Vietnamese and Indians and Russians and Spanish and everything above it. How the hell did they get in this country? '

MLB Commissioner Bud Selige has suspended Rocker without payment for the entire spring training -as well as the first 28 games of the 2000 season. After a profession, the suspension was reduced to 14 games in the season.

Rocker's comments did not go well with Mets -fans – with whom Rocker already had a controversial relationship. Elsewhere in the Pearlman piece, the pitcher referred to Mets fans as 'degenerates'.

In addition to his controversial comments – both made in the Pearlman piece and in several cases later – Rocker admitted that he used steroids during his career and said: 'Yes, of course I was of course [using steroids]. I mean, who wasn't that? Let's be honest here, who doesn't? '

Mahomes Sr was spotted in and around New Orleans before the big game during the week.

He was seen on Thursday evening in a casino in the city, next to his ex-wife Randi and his son Jackson, who is involved in legal issues.

In March last year, Jackson was sentenced to six months conditional after he had declared guilty in February 2023 on a battery of a waiter in a restaurant in Kansas.

In the case, more serious accusations of aggravated sexual battery were withdrawn after the supposed victim – the owner of the restaurant – could not work together and refused to testify in the case.

The woman later reported that she had endured death threats and had her restaurant destroyed. In August 2023 she closed the restaurant.
