People are just now realizing how to use the hole at the end of your pan
WHETHER you’re a self-proclaimed chef or can only fry an egg, you probably don’t know why your pan handles have a hole in the end.
While you may think it’s only for hanging your cookware, there’s a second, lesser-known use for this feature.
In a viral videothe TikTok account Cookist Wow (@cookistwow) revealed the hidden feature.
The host of the video demonstrated the simple life hack for his audience.
“Have you ever wondered why there’s a hole in the handle of your pot?” the cooking experts asked their followers in the clip’s caption.
The woman started by sautéing red peppers in her skillet with a wooden spoon.
When she finished stirring the vegetables, she placed the handle of her wooden spoon into the hole.
“It’s there for ladles, spoons and all the utensils you use when you cook, so you always have a support at hand and you don’t have to look around the kitchen for it,” the professionals explained.
The woman made sure to place the spoon at an angle so that it remained upright.
After removing the frying pan from the heat, she demonstrated the handy trick again.
The cooking experts encouraged their online audience to try out the hack.
They asked their followers if they knew about the hidden use of the pan handle.
TikTok users shared their thoughts on the hack in the comments section.
“That’s so clever,” wrote one impressed viewer.
However, not everyone was so enthusiastic about the tip.
“No, that’s for hanging the pan. Why would you stand a messy spoon upright so everything runs down the handle?” asked another follower.
“Or you can just put it on the side of the pan like normal people do,” a third person suggested.
More things people are only now realizing…
“That is completely and clearly wrong,” said another TikTok user.
“It will drip where it shouldn’t!!” pointed out another follower.
One viewer said they already knew about the hack, saying: “I always do that.”
“I understand that it is so patented, but unfortunately I don’t like it because it drips onto the handle of the spoon,” said another commenter.
“It’s useful because when you swallow it, it creates a hole for you to breathe,” one person joked.
