Buy only from Sanatanis, says Akhara Parishad | India News – Times of India

PRAYAGRAJ: The Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad (ABAP) has directed mahamadaleshwars, mandaleshwars and seers across the country, as well as devotees and followers, to purchase goods from shopkeepers who are ‘followers of Sanataan dharma“, and just participate Hindu hairdressers, carpenters, shoemakers and other service providers.
Goods should be purchased only from a shop that has a board showing the name of the owner, and after checking whether there was any idol or image of gods and goddesses in the shop, dhaba, restaurant or any other establishment, the said Parishad further.
This was necessary because “people of a certain religion” acted with malicious intent, the report claimed. Food, drink and even flowers, prasad and other objects used by Hindus during worship were sold after spitting on them. Fruits and vegetables were dipped in dirty water before being sold. Many such cases had come to light across the country through videos shared on social media, the Akhara Parishad said.
In view of such cases, the parish had decided to change its course in the near future Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, said ABAP president Mahant Ravindra Puri, hinting at a boycott of Muslim retailers.
“In Maha Kumbh, bhandaras are organized in the camps of seers of all sects. For these bhandaras, besides Hindus, Sikhs, Jain and Buddhist shopkeepers have been identified in Prayagraj for fruits, vegetables, milk, grains, dona-pattal and kulhad,” said Puri.
Stating that ABAP was not against any caste or class, he asserted that it could not compromise on purity and tradition and would not tolerate attempts to defile food or puja items.
“We see that a conspiracy is constantly being hatched to break our tradition and sadhana. Spit and urine are mixed into food and worship materials,” he said.
