A young woman has appeared in court accused of using a disinfecting liquid as a poison.
Paige Myers was arrested after reporting a dose of Isopropanol to a woman in April last year.
The 21-year-old appeared this morning to the Newcastle Magistrates court, but the hearing was told that the charges were so serious that they had to be transferred to the crown court of the city.
Myers spoke to confirm her data, but was not asked to introduce a plea at this stage.
The indictment against her states that she has' illegal and malicious poison or other destructive or harmful thing, namely isopropanol with the intention of injuring, worsing, annoying the alleged victim.
The incident is said to have taken place on April 20, 2024 in Prudhoe, Northumberland.
Public Prosecution Service Paul Coulson has submitted a request to the court to grant Myers -Borgocht under certain conditions until her next appearance, which magistrates accepted.
She will appear on Newcastle Crown Court next month.

Chairman of the Bank James Thompson told her: 'Because this case exceeds our sentence powers, it must be heard at the Crown Court.
'So we postpone this case or refer it to the Crown Court.
'You have to be back here at 10 a.m. at the Crown Court on 12 March. Do you understand? '
Thompson added: “In the meantime, you will be released on conditional bail.”
Myers has to stay and sleep at her home address in Prudhoe and abandon contact with the alleged victim or witnesses.
ISOPROPANOL can be used as a bacterium doder and is often found in antiseptic and cleaning materials.
It is also used to disinfect surfaces and can be found in de-ice cream sprays.
