“God, that hair in there, the humidity was a joke,” Harriett said.

“And my hair is naturally curly like that. So as soon as I walked out of the dressing room, I was like, poof.”

Harriett admitted that the jokes about her hair hit even harder because she is known for having “10 out of 10” locks among her friends, and even gets a weekly “bouncy blow-dry” to maintain her look.

“So when I saw the clips, like people brushing my hair on screen, I was like, okay, did I really look like that?

“Like I needed a hairbrush there, thanks for telling me girls,” she added, referring to her housemates in the villa.

Harriett also said Love Island bosses kept telling her she needed to get her extensions redone.

But she didn’t really understand why, because she was “happy” with the extensions – “minus the humidity.”

“And I was like, no, no, no, like I don’t need them. And they were like, no, you have to get them done!” she remembered.

“And they say, because you know, if you’re going to the end, like you’re not going to get your hair done, you have to do it.”

So she ended up having the tapes redone, as bosses had set up at a London hairdresser, before leaving the villa just three days later.

She wasn’t even single?’ Love Island fans rant as new girl Harriett Blackmore reveals when she signed up for show

‘He was very nice. He was actually from London. Really good,” Harriett said.

“Yeah, really good guy. But I just, yeah, I just didn’t expect anyone to come in and do our hair!

“And they said to me, you have to get it done.

“Because when you get to the end, Harry, it’s like you don’t have any tapes hanging around.”

Harriett also revealed that she and her fellow islanders also had their nails done in the villa once.

“I was very happy with mine,” she said.

How can I repair dye-damaged hair?

Did you take the dye too far? There are some ways to fix this WITHOUT chopping the whole thing off.

  1. Give it a haircut: We’re not saying you should cut off everything, but that you should cut off the worst split ends.
  2. Discard the heat products: stop straightening/curling your hair immediately.
  3. Stop dyeing your hair: step away from the bleach and start using ammonia-free semi-permanent dyes for the time being.
  4. Switching to sulfate-free: use kinder, sulfate-free shampoos and conditioners to repair your damaged hair. And if possible, shampoo no more than twice a week, as this removes damaged hair and makes it brittle.
  5. Treatment masks: use any of these hair treatment masks, listed below, to rejuvenate your tresses.
  6. Sun protection: cover your damaged hair when sunbathing or swimming in a chlorinated pool to prevent further damage.
  7. Eat your hair healthy: make sure you drink plenty of water, eat omega-3 fatty acids found in salmon, walnuts and flax seeds, and green vegetables such as spinach, kale, carrots and avocado. Some prenatal supplements also promote hair growth.

“It was amazing. It’s a princess treatment. I loved it!”

However, those in the comments section weren’t convinced by Harriett’s apology, with one writing: “What’s the excuse for being back in the UK lol?”

“The frizz is also due to breakage, you can still see it in this video,” said another.

“Whoever cuts it doesn’t give her 10/10!” a third persisted.
