A desperate Colorado mother confronted the teacher who sexually abused her son with special needs in court, because she was sentenced to four years behind bars.
Imagine Key Ewer, 28, guilty of the sexual abuse of the student she was assigned to ensure Brady Exploration School in Lakewood as part of a plea.
On January 31, she was formally sentenced to four years in prison, whereby the victim's mother addressed the court.
She said: “The defendant hunted my son, so he believed she really took care of him.
'Everything while he exploits him for money and manipulates him by thinking that he was' the one'. What makes this even more painful is that I trust the suspect.
“If I had known what really happened, I would never have given her so much access to him.”
As part of her pleid agreement with public prosecutors, Ewer argued guilty of sexual abuse of a child and contributed to the delinquency of a minor in the first degree.
The office of the public prosecutor said they had rejected three other crime counts and one crime in exchange for the plea.

In a statement, the DA's office said that Ewer had introduced the young person in fentanyl, alcohol and weapons.
Attorney of special victims Bynn Chase said in a court that Ewer had sent the victim to thousands to thousands and thousands of SMS reports.
In this, officers of justice said she asked him to bring a gun to their sexual encounters and even asked him to 'bring the gun to school and to shoot another faculty member.
Suspicions about their relationship first came to the attention of a teacher at the school in November 2023.
They called officers after seeing 'inappropriate writing' on one of their worksheets, according to the DA's office.
After an investigation had started, they discovered Ewer's 'favoritism' towards the student noted by the staff.
Officials estimate that the inappropriate relationship had started in September 2023.
Detectives then discovered evidence of 'frequent sexual encounters, constant digital communication and the introduction of drugs, alcohol and weapons', they said.
