I’m an interior designer and here are four mistakes people make—plus the 2010s fad
AN INTERIOR designer has revealed the five ‘tragic’ mistakes many people make at home.
So if you want your home to impress your guests and look chic, you’ve come to the right place and listen and take notes.
Loren Kreiss, an interior and furniture designer from the US, revealed the “five most offensive design choices to have in your home”, sharing his thoughts on everything from white kitchen cabinets to man caves.
Not only this, but also the CEO and Creative Director of Kreissa luxury furniture company, also explained why he is not a fan of armchairs or decorative signs.
On social media, Loren shared his weekly ‘designer diss track’, as he said: “These five mistakes have all ended up in the design hall of shame, but there can only be one biggest loser.”
Man caves
If your man begs you for a man cave, you should let him know Loren’s thoughts, as the pro claimed: “Newsflash, no one cares about your man cave.”

‘It’s tragic. You should be ashamed.”
White kitchen cabinets
And if you are thinking of giving your kitchen a makeover, pay attention to the advice of the interior design professional.
He continued: “This 2010 design fad has aged poorly and is today’s construction beige.”
Animal prints
Although leopard print is super trendy this season when it comes to clothing, according to Loren it must fit in the home.
He shuddered, “Oh, the horror! It should be illegal to have animal prints in your home anymore.”
Armchairs
The interior expert also shared his honest opinion about armchairs.
He simply said: “They are an absolute abomination.”
Trends that interior designers hate
If you want to make your home look glamorous, here are the trends that interior designers can’t resist.
NO YELLOW: According to Bilal Rehman, yellow paint in a bedroom is a big no.
He said: “If you want everyone to know you’re a horse girl, then yellow is perfect for you.”
UNSUBSCRIBE: Kelly Hoppen shared her honest thoughts on Live, Love, Laugh signs.
The interior design professional explained: “Another negative of mine: Live, Laugh, Love – those kind of wooden things that are on bookshelves and floating shelves, that’s like 10, 12, 15 years ago.”
NO GRAY YES: Julie Provenzano explained that gray interiors are overdone.
She emphasized, “We took something good and we exaggerated it so much that it now feels copy-pasted and basic.”
Decorative letters and characters
Finally, if you’re someone who has a “Live, Love, Laugh” sign in your house, prepare for an attack.
The content creator concluded: “If you have this at home, spell TRASH and do just that. Welcome in advance.”
