Government portal for internships now open for Premier Internship Scheme | India News – Times of India
The internships will start on December 2, under the scheme’s pilot project, which is estimated to cost around Rs 800 crore.
In a post on social media platform ‘X’, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs announced that the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme is a transformative initiative aimed at equipping youth with skills to improve their employability.
It also added that the scheme aims to provide an opportunity for an internship with the top 500 companies in India for 12 months.
This scheme was announced in the Union Budget 2024 by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. It will be implemented through the online portal www.pinternship.mca.gov.indeveloped by the ministry.
“The portal ensures efficient access to internships in different sectors Aadhaar based registration and tools such as biodata generation,” the ministry said.
The portal is now open for candidate registration.
The ministry said the portal added more than 80,000 opportunities in the past week across 24 sectors, including oil, gas and energy, travel and hospitality and automotive.
Interns are provided monthly financial assistance of Rs 5,000 for 12 months and a one-time grant of Rs 6,000, under the scheme.
