‘Sonia Gandhi cries for terrorists’: BJP’s Pralhad Joshi reacts strongly to Kharge’s ‘terrorist party’ comments – Times of India
Pralhad Joshi and Mallikarjun Kharge (R)
Joshi highlighted past terror incidents during the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) rule and accused the Congress of being lenient on terror convicts.
Joshi attacked the grand old party for being ‘soft’ on Afzal Guru and said Sonia Gandhi expressed condolences for the terrorists killed in the Batla House encounter.
He also pointed out that there has been a major decline in terrorist activities under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Sharing his views on social media, Joshi said, “Mallikarjun Kharge accidentally called the BJP a terrorist party, but it was Sonia Gandhi who shed tears for the terrorists who died in Batla House. It was the Congress that was soft on Afzal Guru. It was the Congress that repealed POTA in 2004. It was their Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who shook hands with separatist militants.”
He added, “It is only under Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji that we have seen a significant decline in terrorist activities. Today, Kashmiri youth have jobs instead of bricks, which was the situation during Congress rule. As a senior leader, Kharge should control what he says.”
This exchange came after Mallikarjun Kharge’s criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On October 12, Kharge rejected Prime Minister Modi’s claim that the Congress is controlled by ‘Urban Naxals’ and accused the BJP of being associated with acts of violence against Scheduled Castes and tribes.
Kharge said, “Progressive people are called Urban Naxals… this is the habit of his (PM Modi). His party (BJP) itself is a terrorist party. They engage in lynching, assaulting people, urinating in the mouths of members of the Scheduled Castes. , and rape tribes. They also support those who commit these acts and then blame others.”
Kharge added: “Wherever his government is in power, atrocities are committed against scheduled caste people, especially tribes. Then he talks about these atrocities… It is his government, he can control it.”
Following these comments, BJP National Spokesperson CR criticized Kesavan Kharge and accused the Congress of having a divisive and communal mindset.
Kesavan noted, “Kharge’s comments further expose the biased and toxic communal mentality and ideology of divide and rule of the Congress Party, similar to that of the colonial British. The nation should not forget when Congress talks about terrorism, how it equated terrorism with the Hindu community.”
