'Let Mahayuti announce...': what Uddhav Thackeray said on the CM face of MVA in Maharashtra
NEW DELHI: The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, comprising Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT) and NCP (SP), on Sunday targeted the Maharashtra government over its handling of law and order in the state, alleged corruption and failure to keep promises.
Addressing a joint press conference, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray said, “The condition of the BJP is so bad that they are being forced to fight under the leadership of thieves and traitors… Let Mahayuti first announce their CM face, then we will you all know who our CM face is. Since Mahayuti is in the government, he should be the first to reveal his CM face.”
NCP (SP) supremo Sharad Pawar and Congress leader Nana Patole supported Thackeray’s stand on the MVA’s chief ministerial candidate.
“Whatever Uddhav Thackeray said about CM’s face was very clear and that’s it… Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Scheme was a fraud, there is no clarity on the budgeting and financial provisions for the scheme. If they can make clear and separate provisions to provide financial support for this plan, we will not oppose it”
The MVA leaders released a booklet titled ‘Gaddarancha Panchnama’ in which they accused the Maharashtra government of betraying the state in favor of Gujarat. The booklet mentions alleged corruption in several projects and the government’s ‘rate card’ for buying MLAs and companies, transferring civil servants and recruiting for government jobs. The opposition also highlighted the historic rise in prices of essential items and the impact on the lives of the state’s youth due to frequent paper leaks and contractual recruitment.
Congress leader Nana Patole urged voters to remove the Shinde government from power, accusing it of inciting hatred and creating conflict between castes and communities. Thackeray confirmed that the MVA will prioritize job creation once in power.
The Assembly elections in Maharashtra are expected to take place later this year, with the term of the current Parliament ending on November 26.
