BJP appoints Amit Shah and Mohan Yadav as Haryana Legislature Party observers; Pralhad Joshi, Tarun Chugh for J&K | India News – Times of India
According to the Election Commission, the BJP claimed 48 seats, crossing the majority mark of 46. The Congress won 37 seats, while the INLD secured two seats. Three independent candidates also emerged victorious.
In another important appointment, union minister Pralhad Joshi and the party’s national secretary general Tarun Chugh have been designated as observers for the election of the leader of the party’s legislative group in Jammu and Kashmir. This comes as the National Conference Party (JKNC) is set to form the government in J&K with Omar Abdullah as the chief minister. The JKNC-Congress alliance secured a resounding victory in the J&K Assembly polls, winning a total of 49 seats. The JKNC won 42 seats, while its ally, the Congress Party, won 6 seats.
