Bomb threat letter found on Indigo flight bound for Chennai, minister, HC judge among 169 passengers
NEW DELHI: A letter with a bomb threat was found on the borders of Chennai Indigo flees on Sunday, with 169 passengers on board, including a minister and a Supreme Court judge.
The CISF personnel checked the flight and passengers thoroughly. Later, the flight left for Chennai around 6 pm. The aviation authorities have filed a complaint with the Peelamedu police.
No casualties have been reported so far.
This comes just a day after an Air India Express flight with 150 people on board, bound for Sharjah, aborted its journey due to a hydraulic problem.
It landed safely at Trichy. A team from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (D.G.C.A) ordered a probe on Saturday.
The Boeing 737 (VT-AYB) aircraft (flight IX-613) experienced a malfunction shortly after takeoff around 5:40 p.m. on Friday. The pilots opted to abort the flight and return to Trichy, circling the airspace near the Trichy-Pudukottai border to burn fuel for a safe landing, in case a belly landing became necessary. After two and a half hours in the air, the plane landed safely at the airport at 8:15 p.m., prompting several theories and speculations during the wait.
