Omar Abdullah can consult me if he faces problems in running a ‘half-state’: Arvind Kejriwal | India News – Times of India
“Delhi is called a half-state because the CM has limited powers. Now they (BJP) have also turned J&K into one state with the lieutenant governor having more powers than an elected government,” Kejriwal said at a meeting in Doda of Jammu division. .
“I want to tell Omar that if he faces any difficulty in his work, he should consult me… I headed the government in Delhi for 10 years.”
The former Delhi CM, who was out on bail in a corruption case, was in Doda for a ‘thanksgiving rally’ on behalf of AAP for his maiden election victory in J&K.
He indicated that AAP expected Mehraj Malik, who defeated BJP’s Gajay Singh Rana and ex-ministers Khalid Najib Suharwardy of NC and Abdul Majid Wani of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party, to be given a ministerial berth for formally supporting the NC led government.
“Omar will take over as CM in the coming days. We congratulate him on his appointment as the head of the INDIA block government and hope that he will give Mehraj the responsibility so that he works for Doda and the rest of J&K.”
Kejriwal said that BJP was in government in 22 states but still needed to provide free electricity everywhere and improve the condition of government schools and hospitals. “The Doda region generates hydropower, but why don’t people here get free power supply?” he wondered.
Mehraj, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, Delhi Minister Imran Hussain and AAP MP Sanjay Singh were among the other speakers at the meeting.
