‘Killer’ mom’s friend reveals horrific warning signs before adorable toddler was found dead in playhouse

A former friend of a woman who is accused of killing her daughter has unveiled the horrible warning signals she saw in the months before the toddler was found dead in a playhouse.

Katelyn Carter took the position this week at the murder of Megan Boswell and told how she went to Chile at the beginning of December 2019 with the young mother and her 15 -month -old daughter, Evelyn,.

“She was dirty and I could smell her over the table,” Carter said about the toddler and claimed that her face, hands and clothes were all polluted.

A few weeks later, Carter said that Boswell, who was only 18, began to date with Hunter Wood – and spend more time with him than with her daughter.

When Carter eventually asked where Evelyn was, she told Boswell told her that she was with her father, which she claimed was Ethan Perry.

Boswell reportedly said that Perry had returned home from an army base in Louisiana and had received custody of the young girl after he saw a photo of her with a bruise.

But he actually had no custody about the child.

At that moment, public prosecutors say that Boswell has changed her story to claim that her mother brought her daughter to a campsite in Virginia – but the authorities also found no sign of Evelyn there.

Finally, on February 18, 2020, Boswell reported that her child was missing.

The following month, her father suggested that Tennessee Bureau or Investigation Agents searched for a playhouse on his property in Blountville, Tennessee, where the authorities found the remains of Evelyn in a garbage bin.

Agent Brian Fraley, who found Evelyn's body, explained in court that he searched a playhouse and found a trash can with two garbage bags that are next to it, WJHL reports.

He said that the garbage bags looked like they were recently placed there, because the jury members received horrible images from the site.

The last photo, he said, showed a baby's leg in a garbage can, with what he said, corresponded to the description that Boswell had released from Evelyn's body.

Allegedly, different photos also showed Evelyn in a state of partial decline under the waste, because her body was removed from the trash.

Other clothing, diapers and toys that would belong to the child were also found on the site.

But Boswell is not guilty of the murder of the toddler, instead suggests that Evelyn died while she slept with her.

Her lawyer, Gene Scott, asked jury members in his opening statement to consider all the possibilities of what happened to Evelyn – including her death may have been an accident.

He also begged the jury to put himself in the shoes of Boswell and an 18-year-old mother who had just lost a child and perhaps feared that they were being accused of misconduct when she reported a casual death.

The lawyer admitted that Boswell “was absolutely lied to the police” but did not kill her child.

“She doesn't want to get into trouble, it doesn't mean she killed her child,” said the lawyer in his opening comments last week.

He continued to ask him why only Boswell had been the focus of the state's investigation and why people from Wood, who had schizophrenia, was not also involved.

Scott also said that it seems 'strange' that the father of Boswell 'had an Epiphany' about where to look for Evelyn on his property, after it had already been sought thoroughly.

Yet Scott called the horrible removal of Evelyn's body 'unforgivable'.

“It is not apologized. It doesn't make up for it, but it doesn't mean she is a murderer, “he argued.

'There is nothing that you will all do, that will change something for Evelyn. Nothing. That child has disappeared, “Scott concluded

“Your job here today and in the coming days and weeks will be to decide whether the actions of Megan are criminal or whether they are not criminal.”

But public prosecutor Amber Massengill argued that the state will prove that Boswell killed her daughter by stifling her and then placed her body in a garbage bin.

She claimed that the young mother came up with stories and apologies for Evelyn's pediatrician while she was missing and started to date a new man in the midst of the search.

Allegedly she even went on a journey to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, and moved to her new boyfriend as the search efforts continued.

“I indicate that Megan Boswell has all had her chance,” the public prosecutor told the jury.

“She was gifted with a beautiful child. A healthy, lively little girl. Evelyn was perfect.

“Megan Boswell had all her chance. Today is Evelyn's chance. Today is our chance to get it right, not that of Megan. '

She also claimed that “Evelyn did not have to die,” reports Newsweek.

“Evelyn could be here today,” said Massengill. “And so, today, five years later, we ask you to give right to Evelyn Boswell.”

While she spoke, Boswell and some other jury members cry.

She is now confronted with two counts of crime murder; Every of exacerbated child abuse, aggravated child neglect, messing with evidence, abuse of a corpse and not reporting a death among the suspect, unusual or unnatural circumstances is counted; As well as the 12 counts of false reports.

If convicted, she is confronted with life in prison without the possibility of conditional release.
