Tensions ease in Maharajganj after clash, FIR reported; Police are taking action to ensure smooth idol immersion
LUCKNOW: SP Bahraich, Vrinda Shuklasaid that regarding the Maharajganj clash case, an FIR has been filed against one person, Salman, who was identified as the owner of a shop where shots were fired, while 20 to 30 people involved in the incident have been arrested.
“Further investigations are underway to identify unknown persons involved. Several suspects have already been arrested Police custody and special teams have been deployed to arrest those who fled the scene. The situation has now returned to normal and the immersion process is continuing smoothly across the district,” she said.
Shukla added that in Maharajganj, there was tension in the area after an attack on an individual.
“Police took immediate action and nearly 20 to 30 people involved in the incident have been arrested. The situation is now under control and the immersion in idols The process has resumed at various locations with adequate police presence,” she added.
SP Shukla assured that police will be present during the entire process of immersion and any disturbances in different areas will be handled.
Extensive video recordings are being made and all suspected persons will be identified for further legal action. After the immersion is completed, immediate action will be taken against those responsible for the unrest, the district police chief told reporters.
