The New York Jets have officially confirmed that the disastrous Aaron Rodgers era is over.
“Last week we met Aaron and shared that it was our intention to move in a different direction at Quarterback,” said new head coach Aaron Glenn in a joint explanation with the new GM Darren Mougey, who are now looking for a new Quarterback .
'It was important to have this discussion now to provide clarity and to give us all the right time to plan our respective future.
“We want to thank him for the leadership, the passion and the dedication he has brought to the organization and wish him success in the future.”
After he seemed to be about to retire, Rodgers left the Green Bay Packers – where he had spent his entire career – for the Big Apple, the franchise promised to their first Super Bowl since 1969 in Leiden.
But minutes in his first match – against Buffalo Bills on September 11 in Metlife Stadium – Rodgers tore his Achilles and was excluded as Jet for the rest of his first season.
In his comeback season, the Jets ended the campaign with a 5-12 record and failed to make the play-offs there.
