I paid £35 for a 6ft Christmas tree – trolls told me I had ruined Christmas
A MUM hoped to impress other homeowners with her budget-friendly Christmas decorations.
However, her post was flooded with trolls who quickly accused her of ruining the annual holiday.
The mother shared her excitement about the festivities on the Facebook group BARGAIN LOVERS Poundland, Home Bargains, B&M, Primark, The Range.
She had decorated a huge one Christmas tree bought for £35 with red and white baubles, candy canes and fake gifts.
“My Tree is up, 53 days to go hoho,” she captioned the post.
“6ft Christmas tree Home bargains decorations home bargains Santa hat tree topper Home bargain.
“Some of the decorations are also from B&M Bargains.”
She shared a tag to her TikTok account as she teased more details about the festive decorations.
Hundreds of people liked the post and praised the mother’s creativity in the comments section.
However, others argued that it was too early to put up Christmas decorations and that they were ruining the celebrations.
“You clearly don’t know the true meaning of Christmas. I always put mine on on Christmas Eve, and their faces were full of joy in the morning. Each one was their own,” one person wrote.
“And this is why the magic of Christmas is gone,” said another.
“Totally agree, it’s ridiculous to put them up two months before Christmas, not to mention the dust on them,” said a third.
“Sorry, but it’s ridiculously early to put up a Christmas tree. Whatever happened to the magic of Christmas, if you have kids, they’ll be tired of waiting for Santa to come. I imagine that after two months it is covered in dust,” says another. added.
The mother responded that she wanted to have a “magical” Christmas for her autistic son after a difficult year.
Other parents defended her from the trolls, saying everyone has their own traditions.
Among the commenters was one person who said their Christmas tree had been up since December last year.
“Christmas comes and goes so quickly. It’s nice to put your tree up early, especially on dark nights, because it brightens up the days,” said one.
Is it too early for Christmas?

“There’s nothing wrong with putting up a tree now, especially if you have small children, the run up to Christmas is all fun and exciting for them!” they wrote.
“My tree was put up yesterday and my son is over the moon if it makes people happy, that’s all that matters.”
