I have a tendency towards strawberry legs, but my triple routine has helped me tremendously
IF you suffer from strawberry legs, it’s time to take action and achieve summer-ready results.
According to a shaving expert, you can make your skin smoother than ever with a few simple steps and a cheap grocery store purchase.
SCRUB IT SMOOTH
Reddit user Anti-chocolate milk shared their method for a better shave.
“I am susceptible to KP [keratosis pilaris] and hyperpigmentation, this routine has helped me immensely!” they said.
To reduce the bumps and redness associated with these conditions, they apply their triple technique before they even start shaving.
“I massage my legs with coconut oil two to three hours beforehand so they are soft and supple,” they said.
“I do this because my legs are dry and when I shave they peel like crazy afterwards,” they added.
If you want to spice up your own leg shaving routine, you can pick up Fresh Organic Coconut Oil, which is on sale on Amazon for $5.46.
They also use another affordable product, which is not intended for the legs at all.
“I exfoliate my legs with the St. Ives Oats Scrub instead of using it on my face!” they said.

“You can use any kind, but oatmeal is gentle on the skin and I personally like it.”
Finally, they wash everything with lukewarm water.
MORE SHAVING TIPS
They also had some other tips to make shaving smoother – literally.
“I recommend using shaving cream to soften the hairs so you don’t have to shave your legs all the time. You can also use conditioner,” they said.
They also recommend making sure your knives are as sharp as possible to avoid rashes and cuts.
And this time you have to rinse it with cold water.
Once you’re done shaving, you’ll want to pat everything dry with a clean towel.
“This is important because you’ve likely just made small cuts in your skin and your hair follicles need to be clean of bacteria and dirt,” they said.
PUT IT IN
To keep your skin hydrated, you can use a thick moisturizer or aloe.
Then you can seal in the moisture with another affordable product: Vaseline.
Even at the first sight of a new strand of hair, there is work to be done.
“You’re going to have to physically exfoliate it so that it doesn’t grow into your skin and actually cause PP. Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate,” they said.
“I use Nykaa GUBB gloves. They are the best,” they continued.
Other favorite products include The Ordinary Peeling Solution and AHA Botanical Body Soap.
“AHAs, or glycolic acid, are great for KP. It will take a few months, but it will get better.”
Another Redditor wanted to try these tips to get rid of his own strawberry legs.
“Yes, I will now be incorporating glycolic acid into my routine. Thank you,” they said.
