NCP promises 25 million jobs, agricultural loan waivers and a 30% reduction in energy bills
PUNE: Loan waivers to farmers with 20 per cent subsidy on MSP for crops, generating 25 lakh jobs and increasing Mukhyamantri Mazhi Ladki Bahin amount from Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,100 are among the election promises in the Ajit Pawar-led NCP manifesto. in Mumbai by party president Sunil Tatkare on Wednesday.
Separate manifestos for constituencies where the NCP is contesting were released by party chief Ajit Pawar in Baramati, where he is the battleground.
At Mahayuti’s campaign rally in Kolhapur on Tuesday, Prime Minister Eknath Shinde announced an increase in ‘Ladki Bahin’ scheme to Rs 2,100. NCP also promised Rs 15,000 per month to anganwadi and Asha workers.
The manifesto also promised a subsidy of Rs 25,000 per hectare for foodgrain growers, a 30% reduction in electricity bills for all, and generation of 25 lakh jobs for youth, along with a stipend of Rs 10,000 to 10 lakh students during their training program.
The deputy chief minister said the opposition criticized their plans, claiming they are a financial burden on the state, but the opposition has promised larger amounts if voted to power, which is contradictory.
“Most promises can be kept. Maharashtra is a developed state and we will have to increase resources to increase state revenue. When drawing up the budget, we also focus on reducing expenditure without impacting the population. If we do this, we will be able to fulfill most of the promises,” said Ajit Pawar in Baramati.
He claimed that the NDA government at the Center is positive for Mahayuti. “During the Lok Sabha elections, farmers were in dire straits due to less rainfall. But the state received good rain, which is good for agriculture, and farmers are happy with our plans. People have realized that the opposition is pushing a fake narrative that will not work. are no longer working at the polls,” he added.
