Shopping is my job and I’ve found 12 of the best Christmas knits you can buy from £14
‘Tis the season to be jolly and there’s nothing like getting into the Christmas spirit than wearing a festive knit!
Even though we’re still in November, stores are showcasing their Christmas knitwear selections left, right and center.
Make sure you get ahead of the curve and get your favorites added to your cart before they sell out.
Whether you like something glitzy or something a little more subdued, there are so many options to choose from.
And all from €14.
Here, deputy fashion editor Abby McHale has scoured the stores to help you look and feel good.
River Island, £45
This year River Island has collaborated with Nephthys Illustrated to create a range of super cute festive jumpers.
These retail for £45 and are already proving popular, with some sizes already starting to sell out.
This ‘Santa Baby’ design is particularly popular, with extra details such as trendy bows along both sleeves.
Perfect for all your Christmas festivities. I already have one in my cart and plan to wear it with a satin midi and heels.
New Look, £26.99
Christmas jumpers can be super fun, cool, cheerful and sparkling, and this design from New Look is literally “Festive, Merry and Bright”.
The berry tones are completely trendy and burgundy is the color of the season, making this Christmas sweater not only festive but also stylish.
Wear with cozy lounge joggers for an extra comfortable look, or make it more glamorous with sparkling accessories, wide leg trousers and heels, perfect for the party season.
H&M, £24.99
If you’re looking for a Christmas sweater that gives a nod to the festivities, but is a little more subtle, look no further than this one from H&M.
This knit has a classic gray color and is perfect to combine with everything: from jeans for an understated look to dressed up with a mini skirt and boots.
The ‘Joy’ slogan in a festive candy pattern gives this a touch of Christmas, without being too OTT – such a stylish option.
Marks & Spencer, £29.50
Another great offering, this time from Marks & Spencer, is this black sweater with “Fa La Laa” in the shape of a Christmas tree.
Many festive knits come in bright, eye-catching colours, so it’s nice to see a cool black version that still exudes the Christmas spirit.
I love the pink and gold lettering and the clever shape that looks like a tree.
Wear with black leather-look pants and flats for a cool girl aesthetic.
Plus, we all know that black is a slimming shade, so there’s no chance of you looking frumpy!
Chinti & Parker, £250
If you’re on the higher end of the budget looking for a luxury sweater that will last a lifetime, Chinti & Parker has some great options.
This sweater is made from a wool-cashmere blend and exudes quiet luxury.
A cream knit with ‘Joyeux Noel’ in red (‘Merry Christmas’ in French, FYI), this is the ultimate chic sweater that will have everyone asking you where it’s from.
And although it comes with a hefty price tag, this classic style will last you year after year.
Tu Clothing, £24
Who needs to hang mistletoe when you can just wear it?
This cute sweater from Tu Clothing at Sainsbury’s is a playful nod to the classic festive tradition.
And it only costs €24, which works out to €1 per day if you wear it from December 1st to Christmas Eve!
Available in different sizes from 8-24. Customer reviews say this sweater fits true to size.
George at Asda, £18
For those who don’t like glitzy or flashy designs, but still want a clear nod to Christmas, this sweater from George at Asda ticks all the boxes.
A beige base with an artistic Christmas tree in black. You can style this with wide-leg trousers and boots for a stylish look.
It shows that Christmas doesn’t have to be all about sequins.
Primark, €14,-
I love this Alpine Fair Isle style cardigan from Primark.
Not only is it an absolute bargain at £14, but it’s also perfect for this cold time of year.
The Christmas tree details around the collar, along with the traditional colors, make this super festive without being flashy.
A cardigan is a good option instead of a sweater, which can add volume to your body.
You could wear it open with a top underneath to break up the pattern and add some shape to your look.
Boden, £95
Boden has many beautiful options for Christmas knits, including this pink sweater with a cute robin motif.
There’s also a mini-me version so you can match it with your little ones! While it’s definitely for the holidays, it’s not too flashy and can look super stylish.
You can pair it with a blouse underneath for extra style points (plus another layer of warmth), or wear it over a dress.
Then £39
This bow knit from Next has a V-neck, which not many sweaters have.
This style is flattering if you have a larger bust; it can make your sweater look less bulky and can add some shape to your look.
The style is casual, so you can add a belt to accentuate your waist and create even more shape if necessary, so you aren’t overwhelmed with fabric.
I love the bow detailing and it’s one of the few sweaters you can still wear once the holidays are over, which gives it extra points.
Plus, there are even matching dog versions, so you and your furry friend can twin!
White stuff, £65
Another sweater you can definitely wear after the holidays, this one from White Stuff is made from lambswool, so it will definitely keep you extra warm.
The design is a modern interpretation of Christmas patterns, so it’s perfect for those who want a nod to the holidays, but also want something they can wear for the rest of the winter.
Combine with jeans, boots and a puffer coat for a stylish and functional outdoor outfit.
Anthropology, £90
Anthropologie has lots of beautiful Christmas knits, including this sweet white cardigan with red bow detail.
I also love the red scalloped edges and can see myself wearing this with many pieces in my wardrobe, from jeans to skirts and over dresses too.
And while this is certainly not the cheapest knit at £90, it is a cardigan I would wear year after year.
Boux Avenue, £44
The lingerie brand Boux Avenue, launched this week, has released three Christmas sweaters.
They come in red, black and gray and are super festive, in a Fair Isle knit style, complete with pearl details.
Red is truly the color of Christmas and nothing says festive more than this shade.
Combine with cozy lounge pants for a comfortable, relaxed look this Christmas.
Fantastic fashion editor on fall trends
Do you want to look fantastic this season? Then listen…
Here, Fabulous’ fashion editor, Clemmie Fieldsend, says these are the top 5 trends from the hottest catwalk designers for Fall 2024.
BOHO: The boho revival is a much-needed breath of fresh air for autumn and means you can wear your sheer tops, girly dresses and big jeans with cool boots.
But if the clothes aren’t for you, think big accessories like sloppy tote bags, big earrings and bigger bracelets.
TEXTURE: Whether it’s smooth leather, lush faux fur or soft suede, textures are everywhere this season.
They add depth to your look, making you stand out and also look more expensive.
BURGUNDY: Maroon, oxblood, berry: whatever you call it in fashion, it’s red this fall.
The deep and rich color is everywhere and works best with shades of gray, black, dark blue and from head to toe.
LADY LIKE: Matching top and cardigan sets and pencil skirts sound dated, but they go hand in hand with being ladylike.
Pair with satin cami dresses and fitted blazers for an ultra-feminine look.
LEOPARD PRINT: According to Tagwalk, 75% of the runway this season was leopard print – a vast majority.
It crept its way into last season, but it’s widespread in autumn and all over the high street, whether it’s shoes or floor-sweeping jackets, it’s a must-have trend.
