Scotland’s cheating capital revealed to have the highest number of people having affairs
AFFAIRS website Illicit Encounters has revealed the cheating capital of Scotland.
New figures show that some unlikely locations are particularly disloyal.
Their research found that people in Motherwell are most likely to cheat on their partners,
The North Lanarkshire town, with around 28,000 adult residents, is Scotland’s most adulterous place to live.
Based on data from Britain’s 1.5 million members, the research found that 5.1 percent of adults in Motherwell had an affair – that’s just under one in 20.
It falls ninth on the overall UK Cheat List, with Aberdeen and Forfar not far behind in the scandal stakes at 4.8 and 4.4 percent.
The research also found that Forfar was the most faithful place in Scotland, with just 0.5 percent of the 13,000 adult population cheating – that’s just 65 people.
Chris, from Motherwell, said he had an affair last year but regretted it after his wife found out.
He said: “I had met this lovely lady online and we met about a year after we first started chatting.
“There were immediate sparks, but we were both married – and our partners soon found out.
“Her husband left her, but my wife stayed with me – I learned my lesson.”
Donna, in her forties and from Weybridge, Surrey, said she had been having an affair behind her husband’s back for the past two years.
Weybridge came out on top in the entire UK rankings, with six percent of the adult population in the middle of an affair.
She said: “My husband works in banking and he is at work all day, so I am usually alone from 8am to 9pm every day… and that leaves me with a lot of free time.
“We don’t have children, so some days I go to meet friends, and other days I meet my secret lover.
“He’s married too, but he’ll never leave his wife and I’ll probably never leave my husband, so we’re just having fun with the free time we have.”
She added: “A lot of my girlfriends – and some of my guy friends – aren’t exactly faithful either – maybe there’s something in the water here!”
