I’ve tried the weirdest snacks that celebrities love – Beyonce’s bizarre treat made me gag
EARLIER this week, Amanda Holden sparked a huge debate after sharing her unusual breakfast meal.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge, 53, was preparing for an episode of Heart Breakfast when she decided to show her 2.3 million Instagram followers how she enjoys her hard-boiled eggs.
Amanda was filmed squeezing some Marmite onto the top of an egg, saying: “I don’t understand why everyone thinks this is a dirty thing to do. This is my favorite thing to do.”
Fans shared their horror, as one wrote: “Not normal,” while another agreed: “Wrong on so many levels.”
But it’s not just Amanda who has left fans shocked with her snack choices – as pop star Dua Lipa, 29, also recently raised eyebrows with her viral Diet Coke cocktail recipe.
The singer made headlines after revealing that she drinks Diet Coke mixed with pickle and jalapeño pepper juice, not to mention a few peppers on top for that extra kick.

We saw celebrities like Gordon Ramsay and Prue Leith respond to the TikTok trend by trying her cocktail for themselves and even Coca-Cola itself replied: “I call her filthy.”
Here, I’ve tried five of the strangest celebrity snacks of the past few years – from Selena Gomez’s ‘Texas popcorn’ to Adele’s favorite quick snack.
While Beyoncé’s banana and ketchup combination completely gagged me, Channing Tatum’s crispy sandwich wasn’t much better either…
Dua Lipa’s Diet Coke Cocktail
People around the world got mad when Dua Lipa shared her Diet Coke cocktail last month, so of course I was eager to try it.
I’m a big fan of Diet Coke. It’s the fresh, low-calorie drink that gets me through the daily slog of 3 p.m.
But the thought of adding jalapeños and pickles to my favorite soda didn’t fill me with joy.
If you ask me, nachos aren’t nachos without a load of jalapeños, and you can bet I’m not picking out the pickles in my McDonald’s burger.
But adding these spicy snacks to a drink was something I never thought I would do.
While spicy margs have taken over every cocktail menu in London, I’m not yet a convert, and while Dirty Martinis are popular with many, not so much with me.
But unlike Gordon Ramsay, I didn’t keep spitting out this drink. However, it took me a while to decide on the cocktail.
I can’t say I’d make it again, but it certainly wasn’t as horrible as I imagined.
However, if you are not a fan of spices, I would avoid it at all costs.
Selena Gomez’s ‘Texas Popcorn’
And while Dua Lipa is a fan of jalapeños and pickles, it turns out that It Ain’t Me singer Selena Gomez is a big fan of Tabasco sauce.
And no, she doesn’t just have the spicy sauce with her meat or pizza, but adds it to her popcorn – yes, you heard that right.
During an appearance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, Selena introduced the host to something she called “Texas popcorn.”
The Wizards of Waverly Place alum explained, “Basically you get Tabasco sauce…put a lot in the bag and then you put salt in it. Then you mix it.”
The country’s most unusual food combinations revealed
Brits reveal unusual food combinations that are so wrong they feel right
Research by LNER claims that as many as four in five Brits experiment with unusual flavours, and almost a quarter have a ‘guilty pleasure’ when it comes to unconventional food combinations,
- Chips and chocolate
- Cheese and chocolate
- Chips in jam sandwich
- Chips and milkshake
- Cheese and bananas
- Apples with salt and pepper
- Avocado and chocolate
- Popcorn and hot sauce
- Tuna and marmite
- Pickles and peanut butter
I had high hopes for this unique snack and was eager to try it.
After all, I never say no to a bowl of popcorn as a tasty afternoon snack and I also add heaps of Tabasco to my poached eggs.
While I ended up making a mess and spilling salt everywhere, it was the Tabasco that was somewhat of a problem.
Although I added a little too much Tabasco, I have to say I’m a fan.
It’s definitely different, and if you have a sweet tooth, this probably isn’t for you.
But the combination of flavors left my tongue tingling (in a good way), and I would definitely be willing to prepare this to my liking. next movie night.
If you ask me, move on from sweet and salty popcorn, it’s all about the sweet and spicy combination now.
Adele’s spicy chips
When 36-year-old Adele isn’t performing at her Las Vegas residency, it turns out she’s indulging in a very unique snack.
So if you’re a fan of Walker’s but want to upgrade your favorite chips, you’ve come to the right place.
The Set Fire to the Rain singer posted on Instagram in 2021, revealing that she enjoys eating ‘Ready Salted Walkers’ [potato chips] with lots of Worcestershire sauce.”
After this in an interview with BBC Radio 1she explained that she pours the sauce directly into the bag, and then “you hold it tight, and you clamp it, and you shake, shake, shake.”
While some people might add Worcestershire sauce to their shepherd’s pie or cheese on toast, I was open to the idea of adding it to chips.
It’s the same concept as the iconic Salt & Shake chips, which I love, so I eagerly grabbed my two ingredients and gave them a mix.
Hold it tight, and you clip it, and you shake it, shake it, shake it

If you ask me, ready-made salted chips can be a bit boring, and I have to say I was impressed with the spicy chips.
The beloved sauce, which has a savory and sweet flavor with a hint of vinegar, paired perfectly with the regular chips.
Despite this, I have to say that it is a bit of a challenge to get the right amount of sauce without completely ruining the snack.
So if you give this combination a try, don’t get too excited and add loads of sauce (like I did) because you’ll end up with very soggy chips (which is a way to ruin any afternoon).
Channing Tatum’s ‘PBJC’ sandwich
Although a peanut butter and jelly sandwich is a common snack in the US, I’ve never tried it.
So when I heard about Channing Tatum’s iconic version of the classic “PBJ” sandwich, I was intrigued.
While promoting his new children’s book Today, the Magic Mike actor played a few rounds of “Fact or Fake” with hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager.
During the competition, the presenters had to guess whether the statements Channing read were true or false. One was, “My go-to sandwich is peanut butter, jelly and Cheetos.”
It turns out the crispy sandwiches were a snack the 44-year-old loved as a kid, beaming: “When I was a kid, I liked peanut butter and jelly and only Cheetos. [in there].”
I’m a big fan of crunchy sandwiches and while I can’t say I’ve ever added Cheetos to a sandwich, I had high hopes.
But they soon crashed after just one small bite.
My go-to sandwich is peanut butter, jelly and Cheetos

The combination of the cheesy chips, which actually taste the same as Wotsits, with the sweet jelly was not for me, and that comes from a mega cheese fan who also has a huge dessert stomach.
I was really looking forward to the unique sandwich, but I certainly won’t make it again.
It was a textural overload and the sweet and savory mix wasn’t my thing – like pineapple on pizza, it just shouldn’t be anything.
Beyonce’s fruity combo
But worst of all, the latest weird celebrity snack left me physically gagging.
After announcing her first pregnancy at the MTV VMAs in 2011, Beyoncé’s food cravings made headlines.
And it was reported that the 43-year-old pop star indulged in some very unique foods while on a cruise through Croatia and Italy with hubby Jay Z.
I immediately gagged and my eyes started to water – the soft texture of the banana mixed with the distinct taste of the tomato ketchup was not pleasant at all
Abigail Wilson
Articles read: “Oreo cookies and pickles, Bounty ice cream cones with hot chili sauce and she likes to dip bananas in ketchup.”
Much to my dismay, I tried it. And to be honest, I wish I hadn’t.
Even though I’m a big fan of bananas and often drown my chips in ketchup, the combination of the two made me nauseous.
And after just one small bite, I can say with certainty that this was the weirdest combination of them all.
I immediately gagged and my eyes started to water – the soft texture of the banana mixed with the distinct taste of the tomato ketchup was not pleasant at all and is something that, honestly, I never want to experience again.
Not only was it hell for my taste buds, but it also left me with a gurgling stomach ache for the rest of the day – so pregnant women beware, even if you feel like it, don’t do it.
