Sennheiser’s best wireless headphones just became a perk of first-class flights – or you can pick up a pair in this record-low Black Friday deal
- Sennheiser Momentum 4 to be issued to Lufthansa first class fliers ‘for the duration of the flight’
- Amazon has a great Black Friday deal for UK shoppers
- US shoppers may want to wait for Black Friday
The Momentum 4 wireless headphones from Sennheiser are among the best wireless headphones you can buy and received the full five stars in our review. And now they’re taking to the skies – but you don’t have to be a high-flyer to enjoy a pair thanks to a newly discovered huge discount (at least in Britain).
Let’s talk about the sky first. Sennheiser has teamed up with Lufthansa for an in-flight collaboration. Travelers in the latest Lufthansa Allegris First Class suites (see main image. Pretty chic, right?) will be offered a special Lufthansa edition of the Momentum 4 Wireless to use “in-flight”. (Boo!)
They are great for flights: their battery life is up to 60 hours, more than enough to travel the world, and their noise cancellation makes engine noise easy. But don’t worry if your travel budget doesn’t stretch that far, as we’ve also spotted a really big discount for those of us in the UK. Hopefully similar discounts come to the US too – check out our best Black Friday headphone deals for top discounts wherever you are.
Sennheiser’s best wireless headphones just got a big discount
Amazon UK is currently selling the Momentum 4 for £199, which is the cheapest we’ve ever seen. The lowest these headphones have ever been was just £245 at the end of last year, so it’s literally a top deal for premium cans.
Things aren’t quite as cheap at Amazon US, where the lowest price we’ve seen is $219 and the usual price is around $250. Right now they’re at $289.98, so maybe a whole bunch of Black Friday deals are coming in…
These beautiful over-ears were released in August 2022 and their relative age (the world of wireless listening devices moves at a surprising pace, doesn’t it?) is the only reason why you might think twice about it.
In terms of sound, comfort and features they are incredibly good – a great benefit is ‘Sound Zones’. You can create up to 20 profiles (think office, train, gym, home and so on) with specific EQ and noise isolation levels – which magically activate or deactivate when you enter or leave a specific ‘zone’ while wearing the Momentum 4 Wireless . Do you want maximum ANC and bass injection as soon as you get within range of the train station? Want to get caught up in the office chatter, but don’t feel like using the app (no matter how good it is) at your desk? Sound Zones makes it possible.
Elsewhere you get Bluetooth 5.2 with multipoint pairing, aptX and aptX higher resolution adaptive audio support (if your file is good enough), Sennheiser’s wonderful Sidetone technology, which makes your own voice more audible during calls, a ‘Sound Check’, which requires you to listen to your favorite music to help you create custom presets, and Adaptive ANC, which includes a slider to adjust how much external noise you want to block out. All in all, they are still doing excellently in 2024.
