5-year-old boy dies of suffocation in car in city garage
MUMBAI: A five-year-old boy accidentally got into a car in a garage while playing and died of suffocation when he got stuck in it, in Mulund East on Tuesday. The deceased was reportedly playing with his father, who runs a paan bidi shop in Mhada Colony in Mulund East.
Navghar police have registered an offense and are investigating it.
According to police, there is a garage near the store where the boy used to play in the cars. “Around 3 p.m., the boy must have gotten into the Honda car, got stuck and was unable to open the door from the inside,” police added.
Kanojia told police that the minor asked him if he could go to the bathroom and went to the garage, and his father fell asleep in the store. When he woke up, he looked everywhere for his son and found him unconscious in the car. He was rushed to Veer Savarkar Hospital where he was declared brought dead.
The boy lived with his parents and elder brother in Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar, Navghar. The police are awaiting the results of the post-mortem examination and have filed a report Accidental death report (ADR) in the case.
