The car probably went through a zebra crossing when it drove onto the curb.

Witnesses said the 27-year-old was seen “slumped over the steering wheel” at another intersection before the crash and had to be woken up by witnesses tapping on the window, reported The era.

He then allegedly ‘drove away at high speed’ and crashed shortly afterwards.

Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit are investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the collision and investigations are ongoing.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, has information or has footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
