MVA in Maharashtra is 'Maha Vinash Aghadi': BJP's Piyush Goyal hits out at oppn
NEW DELHI: Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Monday expressed high confidence in the prospects of the Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra, delivering a sharp thump to the opposition Mahavikas Aghadi, whom he termed ‘Maha ‘Vinash’ Aghadi’.
Goyal, at a press conference, predicted a landslide victory for the Mahayuti and said that ‘the people of Maharashtra no longer trust the false promises of the Mahayuti. Maha Vinash Aghadi.”
He criticized the opposition alliance and singled out the current leadership of the Shiv Sena for what he described as a betrayal of the party’s fundamental values.

Goyal specifically targeted Shiv Sena UBT chief Uddhav Thackeray and accused him of abandoning the legacy of Balasaheb Thackeray and the original spirit of Shiv Sena. “The public has understood that a party that can insult even its founder Balasaheb Thackeray – who had said he would shut down his party instead of joining hands with the Congress – cannot be trusted,” Goyal noted.
He further criticized Thackeray’s ambition, saying, “A man who rejects Hinduva Feelings for personal ambitions, for the desire of the CM post, for establishing his son, have lost the public’s confidence.”
Reflecting on Shiv Sena’s political realignment in 2019, Goyal claimed that the shift from Hindutva ideals has disappointed the voter base. “The entire idea of Shiv Sena was scrapped in 2019. People no longer trust such a party,” he concluded.
